Also fitted the fuel rail and throttle cable bracket using the standard cable, and new Air filter , not a bad result .although the pedal is somewhat firm .

Don't pick on my carby bolts , im still waiting for the right ones to arrive .

looking good mate take one of the springs off the bracket it will make the throttle a little lighter
Yeah tried that but the pedal doesn't return back quick enough with only one spring. I’m going to test the spring pressure and try to find 2 lighter replacements, about 30% less.

I would expect the springs to raised or at least horizontal at the throttle end when the throttle is closed. It the picture the springs appear to be pointing down at the throttle end which would explain why they have trouble closing the throttle.

The angle of the spring bracket where it is attached to the throttle does not look right in the photo.

the throttle is closed in the pic , the problem, although I won’t call it a problem is not with closing the throttle it’s with the firmness of the pedal , the reason the spring brackets in this position is this it gives the least extension to the spring on a arc . Throttle return is great.

Not sure if anyone else has picked it, but with directional tyres, you have them on the wrong way. Shouldnt they be on opposite sides of the car?? Great looking car though, giving me heaps of inspiration.

I was waiting for that, I hadn’t changed them around as I still had the standard height springs in there, but today they were changed as the new lowered springs arrived. I did need to remove the engine again today so I took the opportunity to drop the springs in as well. If anyone is interested I have a standard height set of front king Springs KHFS-14 for sale $50 pic on bottom .

Hey guys, its bin a while since my last post.
The SLR has been at a standstill since last year, it was meant to be finished by Christmas last year but a sudden family holiday to Italy got in the way.
Since then I have taken on another 2 resto projects a 74 Ducati 750GT and a 84 Ducati Mike Hailwood add to that work and two growing boys that have developed a taste for fishing, I’m busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest , So the Torana is just sitting there .
It’s almost finished; I have all the parts needed to finish it. What’s remaining is the fuel tank and lines, drive shaft , exhaust and some small electrics, then fit the 2 front seats and it’s finished.
I hope to get on to it by the end of the year fingers crossed , I just want to finish the GT 750, just waiting on the motor and wheels , paint is done and I have all the parts to finish it .
So lets wait and see what happens in the following months .
