Well after a long wait and being screwed around by lots of people, the engine bay is finally painted!! Old man picked it up thismorning, havent seen it as of yet, but its purple and he reckons it looks pretty dam good!

So now the engine can go in (maybe we should paint it silver instead of the red colour it is... hmmmmm...

Wont be long now!

maybe just some LJM racing stickers.

(long jetty mufflers racing) and the numbers.

but other then that, i dont think so.

maybe a lion head type decal like this (in silver over the purple exterior)



ohh and i mean the dark little outline of the lions head, not the full side paneling.

Id make it a bit bigger, maybe add something different.. hmmmmmmmm

I think just purple will look awesome for now (with silverouts instead of blackouts)

its noice! and its purple!

Been painted the new purple from the VE range, was originally going to go with the dark purple from the VZ range, but the painter suggested this colour, and this colour we have got!

i was going to grab a few last night, but didnt get a chance (was only a fleeting visit to the workshop)

yeah Rory, i think its called morpheus,

and i still havent got a decent picture of the thing! since the bay was painted, I havent touched it. Just been getting everything else ready to go in

Few things to do before the engine goes in-

Weld a few holes in the floor and give it a coat of GMH black (remove and sound deadener)
Re-paint engine block (is GMH orange, but wont look too good with the purple so its going silver)
Sort out which box we will use (celica 5 or 4 speed, or aussie 4 speed)
The front end is painted, and assembled, only thing missing is shocks and springs (bilstein here we come )

come from hoppers crossing in melb.

Its up on the two poster, with a bench set up under neath it, so I couldnt be bothered moving it to lower the car, but the colour-








Home made coil over job- (will be replaced obviously)



Custom fabbed sump (sheetmetal and a welder!)




nice set of extractors too, just need some mods to clear everything. (no dramas there)

and originally were going to use this to shift with (might end up in the next car we build)

Engine and box are in, mounted them on the crossmember and dropped the car ontop on the two poster.

All went together without any dramas, only pain was grinding some meat from the bellhousing (dellow hydraulic clutch unit for celica box) to fit the blue motor clutch and flywheel.

Going to fab up/ modify a trimatic gearbox crossmember to use, the one they supply is shithouse. (did the same thing with my LJ)

Will be re-wiring the car, and should have it running sometime after toranafest.

Cant wait to get it driving so we can get on with other things (ie roll cage, panel work etc)
