Got my silicone hoses for my intercooler on friday so I decided to fit them today, I had a three inch hole saw so I just drilled that though and then hit it with the die grinder to shape the hole a bit more.
I thought the hoses were going to hit the grill but it only just touched here's a few pics with whole front back on

matt black the intercooler.

100% sleeper then.

Are you going to go granny spec with the exterior? (ie. original colour paint, small diameter wheels)

or are you going for something flashier?

Yes the intercooler is going matt black.
I'm putting a hoppers brake kit on it so the smallest wheels that will fit are fifteens ( will just use commodore stockies untill funds get there )
The paint will be the same colour but with A9X blackouts on the bonnet and around windows, the bumpers and wheels are going black aswell.
The whole car is having a black and orange theme just wish the silicone hoses had more colours to chose from than blue.

yeah, the whole "blue only" thing is a bit gay, you would think black would be the better colour.

Actually, from memory, a joint in the UK was making intercooler sillicon joins in multi colours to suit jap cars, I'll see if I can find the link.

Black hoses would be the go for a stealth look, but i'm sure blue ones wouldn't be too noticeable sitting behind the grill.

I've had a look over the original starting pics, i see your going to use a VN airbox. Good choice. I'm using one for my Turbo project. I found if i move the battery, fit the airbox in it's place i can use std black rubber flex joins to get the air from the box to my GRA 440 gas carby very neatly & it will help with engineering as the airbox has been adr approved already.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

My airbox has been modified just havn't put any pics up yet, there is a air intake from under the battery tray into the box and I cut the top to fit two outlets ( one for each turbo )will put pics up shortly of the box when it's finished.

Awesome idea!

Considering its location, Im hope you cover the mouth of the trumpet with some fine mesh, should stop larger objects camping in your airbox.

Excuse the ignorance, but why not just run two pipes off the turbos and clamp two pod filters onto them?

And is that the intercooler hose? Bit of a tight fit dont you think?

Probably for a bit of 'stealth'. Avoid un-necessary police attention etc, and this way it's cold as well.

Possibly, thats what I had in the back of my empty head.

Is there any chance that airbox could be too small?

Or do I just like overkilling things?

The intercooler pipe has not been cut to size and yes it is too close in the pic as it has to be pushed back to fit the box but will be fine once cut as for two pods they are not allowed by law and I dont like sucking hot air into any motor.
The box is there for rego requirements not much street driving will be done but I want it to be all legal when it is and the box wont be used when the car is taken to the track, there will be a wire gauze put on the bell of the intake just another of my long list of unfinished parts.

I picked up the hoses for the inlet on saturday, have cut one side to fit the runners but will wait till the plenum gets back from being welded before I cut the the other end.

Looking good, how come you used silicon hoses from the runners to the plenum tho? and not just all alloy...

Was going to be one piece but decided to make it two just incase I want to change the plenum later.
Injectors and fuel rail will be mounted on the runners

Ahhk, just cos I know good quality silicon bends arent cheap! Would of been near on $300 for the 6? could have always just cut the plenum off if needed. Either way this is gonna be one nuts 202 thats for sure!

Do you have ur design for the plenum made up yet? I can give you some links to some info on designs if you want.

Never seen a hose for each cylinder! I was thinking more than $300 but maybe I'm overestimating it. Looks great anyway, different too haha

Looking good man. I love your cold air idea. It gives you the cool air you want, but no undue attention from the
boys in blue.
