Just read through the thread, sweet looking project. the engine is looking awesome. i must say i am a little suspect of those hose clamps you are using on the silicone hoses on the inlet mainifold, not sure how boost friendly they will be. where are you planning on putting the injectors?
keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming.

how long ago did you buy the head? i think i read it cost you 3700?? is that complete with valves and springs?

He has to buy 16 of em hehe the cheaper the better... if you get the ends of the pipes flared they should hold if there half decent hose clamps, unless your going mass boost.

Did you bellmouth the ends in the plenum? also what capacity is the plenum? should be around 6L

You might find with that design that cyl 1-3 get more air then 4-6

From the research ive done... with front mounted throttle body plenums they aim the throttle body right towards the back wall and the plenum tapers as it goes towards the rear

Here's a pic of a Mclaren motor, if anyone knows what there doing they do.

The clamps in the picture arn't the ones i'm using just had them in the garage, will be using proper T clamps.
The injectors are going to be placed on the runners aming at the inlet valve, the head come's with valves and springs.
I havn't checked the capacity but from the throtle body to the head would be over six litres.
I am bellmouthing the inside, been doing that today.
And I cant bolt the throtle body strait on the front as it hits the bonnet, under boost wont matter.

That maclaren motor has 12 throttle bodies under that plenum the things on the front are airflow meters

Nice dude, very nice! Great to see the updated engine pics & the engine parts pics. That turbo manifold & turbo's looks huge, is it going to fit under the bonnet?

Seeing this makes me want to get stuck into my torry again, but i have too many other projects that need time right now. :(

Cheers

Just realized it's been over a year since i have posted anything, no point anyway as my car was put on the back burner again with the birth of my son but atleast with the pace i'm going at he will proberly be helping me finsh it. My manifolds still not finshed and to much die grinding on it played havoc with the nerves in my hands and i had to get surgery on them as i lost the use of my right hand. (a bit annoying as i'm right handed) You try to save money and do the work yourself and end up giving all the money you saved to a doctor but all fixed now so in a couple of weeks i'm hoping to finsh it and get some more pics up here to show i'm not really that lazy.

Been working on the ignition lately, going too use a Delco module and making my crank trigger. Found a company in American that makes 36-1 trigger wheels so I'll be modifying it too work as a 6+1 and using abs sensor from my commodore as the pickup.

Finally got a sump for my motor, years ago my original seemed too disappear.
Got this one of a mate, needs a bit of work as it has hit something but was going too enlargen it and have too drill for oil return.
Finished my alternator bracket and had too cut a section out of the sump too fit the bolt, once I check the alignment of the belt I'll weld the bracket together and get a alloy copy machined out.

Crank sensor looks really neat, good work.

Fan on the alternator looks like a disaster waiting to happen, hopefully that one's just for mock up.

Did you drill extra holes in the trigger wheel to mount it to the balancer?
