Question: Is there a cheaper way to restore bumpers and light surrounds? Myne arent to bad? My bumpers have a tiny dent, 3 spots of surface rust on the bottom side of the rear bumper the sizee of a 5 cent piece, the front has no marks of rust but is scractched a bit. The light surrounds need to be re anodised or whatever, and some very very minor fine dents are there that could be tapped out...I just wondered if there is another option that makes you parts come out looking decent-but not show car quality? Because after some calls I realised getting someone else to restore these wont be worth it in my case ($300 for a set of surrounds or something I was quoted), I would rather leave them as is as they arent to bad. Any DIY options or anything else that can be done for a cheaper price?
Cheers

with bumpers i take the brackets off,put bar on plank of wood, then find all dents and tap them out carefully ,when done get out a proper buffer and put metal polish on bar then start buffing the same way you would do paint, its amazing just how well they come up.

Does anyone have any suggestions for bumper bar restoration in or around brisbane.
Both my bumpers need the full treatment of dent removal and re-chroming. I have the LX torana bumpers with the black rubber insert type bars..

Unless someone has some very good condition bars floating around.....hidden.....for a special black torana.....like mine....

I bought some Fiberglass bars years ago off ebay/ and the guy was down the gold coast that made them - i did a local pick up.. the bars themselves look fine but when i put them on over the original bar mounts... its clear to see his mould must have been not right as the bars expand up around the factory steel mounts and looks pox. I suppose i could make some custom bar mounts out of alloy of something and just dolly up the fiber i have but have come to the conclusion that nice shiney chrome is what i want

Make sure you only tighten them up finger tight when you put em back on..... Otherwise they will crack.
