Great news today!

I found out that i will be receiving much needed funds to pour into my long awaiting (6 year) project UC.

A recent death (long story) in the family has enable me to secure funds to get this baby up and running.

Like many other people on here i have a wife, 3 kids and mortgage to think off. Finally i've been given some funds to kick this project into gear.

the hard part has been done. the car has been stripped, repaired and painted. New headlining is in aswell.

The funds should pay for gearbox, clutch, diff repairs, motor rebuild and other associated details.

I'm so excited at the moment cause it looked like it never was going to happen.

The engine in when i did the trail fit and got it all running before painting. Sorry about bad phone picture.

It will be very handy that my neighbor builds drag cars and does custom fab work.

I love the colour. Cream interior would look tops I reckon. Sorry to hear about the death...but good things have come from it

I put grey velor trim for the headlining, so i have to stay with grey.

The death was on my wifes side, sad, but good in a sense that no more pain.

I didn't think my wife would hand over the cash, but after a long chat and i explained i was feeling a bit of resentment towards putting off the project to buy a house, go over seas, have child, buy nice family car, have another child, buy a bigger house she agreed.

You know how it is.

s/c rb30?? how does that work? im interested in that now, as you only ever see turbo ones. what kind of setup are you running or intending on running??

The set up is the cressida supercharger. the very same they sell on castle main rod shop.

I didn't like how they only use the a section belt normally used for air con for the supercharger when the super charger has a 4 pk belt pulley.

I had a custom pulley made from a water pump pulley with a new custom center that bolts onto the stock harmonic balancer.

But today i've decided to scrap the whole idea and go for a complete half cut R33 motor and box, so the RB30 with supercharger, brand new alternator, timing belt, camshaft seal and rear main seal is up for grabs very soon.

You'll need a new sump/pick as a mate helped me make one and it's pretty rough.

If anyone is interested in the RB30 engine, send me a pm.

Got my factory nissan reverse hump sump, pick and pick gasket from USA on Monday.
All up to my door cost me $AU303.

I should be able to pick up the R33 half cut today. I'll post pictures soon.

Hey paul, thats great to hear you getting back into the project.

Would the suprcharger suit a V6???? heheh.

I just picked my car up from Profab on saturday did you get to have a look at the drop tank???

If not check out my post in this same section, very happy with it.

Can't wait for both cars to be done we can go crusing through the gong together lol.

I went next door and noticed that your car was gone. Guess what?

Rang up ichiban today to let them know that i would be picking the half cut up this arvo. When i got there, they hooked up the fuel pump and battery and had it running for me to hear the engine. So sweet..

So excited...I'll post up pics tomorrow of the half cut before i strip her down.

A big thanks to Scott from ichiban for all his help.

My colour is from a renult alpine and the colour is turquoise. I've had the same colour scheme since 1992.

It's very similar to the monaro, but no metallic in it.

I got the engine and 5 speed gearbox out eventually, what a pain in the butt.

The next step is to remove gearbox form engine and fit to an engine stand, flip and replace sump and pick up.

Then i can strip out the front end on the torana and i can use the cross member while out of the car to see how it lines up with the sump clearance.

Got the engine mounts allready from castle main rod shop. i also got a sump from the states.

I'm dropping my front end out tonight and i'll do a dummy fit of cross member with engine on the engine stand, that way i can see how much clrarance i got with the new sump.

Going by the phone number your in wollongong, correct?

I have to show you the factory nissan sump i found to suit the mod. I'll do a dummy fit on tuesday.

First hurdle

I decided to try the new sump on the motor with a couple of bolts to hold it in position. Then fit the cross member upside down to check clearance.

Well, i'm glad i did. Imagine sealing the sump and getting the engine in just to find out that the sump hits.

You can see that the rack and the sump hit on the raised bit.

The rear hump clears the cross member like it was made to fit. This picture looks close cause the weight of the cross member is hanging on it, similar to when you remove the gearbox and let the engine hang.

I'm getting a guy to modify the sump at the end of the week.

Even with the cost of modifying the sump, i'm still out well in front compare to other sumps on the market.

I going to replace the timing belt, rear main oil seal,front seals and clutch while the motor is out.

Sump, pick up and pick up gasket cost me $303 landed. including the western union fees. Pretty cheap compared to castle main rod shop $550 and you have to give them sumps.
