73LJWhiteSL ... I got there real early and it was a very slow drive home so i left at 11 am.....and kicked myself that I didn't meet more forumers....but I had a fairly huge day and went home expecting to tell the family my good news only to find an empty house.

Next time I own a decent torry its in....neither of my UC's fit the bill yet..but my brown sunbird will get there when the 234 turbo fires up.

Mick, well done, it was a good day. Dust free, nice views, good selection of cars, the gods even put on nice weather.  Hopefully I'll prepare myself better and go up next year.

Mate if you're a fan of Bob Heritage's ONGAS LC you need to grab yourself a copy of the latest issue of Xtreme Holdens Magazine-

It's our current cover car, and I agree, an awesome piece of machinery and my personal favorite car from Toranafest :spoton:

There's something you don't see every day... Great pics Graham.

Was there any Purr Pull LJ's there? If so, did anyone get any pics?

Lows2 is correct, no purr pull toranas were there.

I tried to get a friend to take my purr pull GTR but he couldn't make it.

Hopefully next year, will get both cars there.

Mick.

P.S. Great photo's Graham of the 3 x SLR 5000's. Will probably never see that again.

I found it hard to take photos of groups of cars unless you wanted the backs of them.as the round formation with the fronts out didn't work for me .I took very few compared to what I normally take .One example, I got none of tuff gong's! But this didn't detract from the great day I had.

Well the trip from BrisVegas took nearly 12 hours (2 breakdowns slowed us up a little!) & we spent $400 in fuel.......but it was completely worth every km & $!

Thanks to the HVTC for a brilliant weekend....fantastic show, awesome location, excellent vibe! We stayed at the "Torana Motel" with many others, it was great to share common ground with everyone & meet new faces!

The only complaint we have is that there was no breakfast available at the show......a bacon & egg burger was much needed after the previous nights fluid consumption!

We are already planning to save the funds for the trip next year & we are hoping to bring more then just 5 QTCC cars!

:D xuidave,

Breakfast mmmmm I think most HVTC people had theirs about 11.00am.

I actually thought that Harry's Cafe De Wheels would be open early in the morning but I guess the only ones open would have been Macca's.

We will talk about breakfast for next year, can you wait that long? LOL

Hey Todd, the torana your old man almost bought wasnt an LJ with a V8 and a locker 9 inch in it was it?? a blue GTR.

parked between a birght orange 4 door and a white XU-1

AHHH OK.

just the bloke parked next to me was spouting 25 as his figure... lets not get into that.

I think I know the car you are referring to here and was wondering why you seem to be questioning $25k as an asking price for an engineered, genuine LJ GTR with a 308/Supra 5 speed/9" combo? What do you not want to get into?

How is your 4 door going? I read you got runner up 4 door, not bad. What are the plans for it now?

wasnt having a go at the figure, more the fact that steve is going to sell a genuine GTR. he goes through cars like undies, and it would be good to see him keep and restore/finish a car to a good level rather then a "shell be right" then sell it off.

I dont doubt he can, just seems like he quits alot.

Four door will take a backseat for a while now, need to do an LX hatch build and finish my old mans. It might cop a charger before next toranafest, it will have the new gauges in it and a few minor things but nothing major.

Did you see the black one finished just before he got rid of it? It was pretty smick, a bit better than "she'll be right". The only reason he got rid of it was to swap for the genuine GTR he has now. I don't think he really wants to get rid of the GTR either but everything is for sale for the right price. I get bored with cars too, I've had 30 in only 9 years of driving which I don't consider to be a lot. I'd rather build cars and get rid of them and start with another project than to rebuild the same car over and over like some people do.

I'm pissed I didn't get up to Toranafest this year, from the photos I've seen, it looked like a good turnout. Next year for sure!
