Yeah, I either hold 4th and pull 7000 down the straight or change into 5th and spare the engine a bit.
The traffic thinned out toward the end of the day and I went faster and I think I relaxed a bit and enjoyed the day for what it was instead of putting pressure on myself to set good times.
Now if only Rodomo was here......

Last time I heard our team was 11th out of 50 so not a bad effort.
I nominated a 2.02 laptime, well off my normal times but under the circumstances it was plenty fast enough.
Saw about 5 Toranas, lots of car clubs entered, so there was Mini teams, Porsche teams, Commodore, Falcon Mustang teams, my team had 3 Comm and 3 Falc drivers, not as much rice as I expected,
For anyone wanting to enter, the entry is $1500 per team - 250 per car, so you need to be organised well beforehand and have the cash ready.
One other thing - I don't think this is the right event to enter for your first trip to Phillip Island unless you already have plenty of experience at other tracks (like Rodomo for instance). Go to a Supersprint where there are 14 cars on the track not 50. Otherwise you will spend too much time looking in your mirrors and not enough time learning how to drive around a racetrck.

Fastest was 2:01.48 according to Natsoft http://www.natsoft.com.au/results/
But you've done 1:55's before in the sprints haven't you?

how does that compare to your 1:55's at Phillip island? is there more left in it? car/driver?
have you been back to the 1/4 since your 13.4?

Just read through the regs and found out all I need that I hadn't necessarily planned for was an in-date harness. No biggie, but it's still quite a commitment... Get back to you once I find a shell maybe

Must be a different Mad Mick.....
Surely there couldn't be 2 Mad Mick's within a Koo-Wee-Rup of each other?

True, but at the sprints you don't get traffic like we had last weekend.
And I was being a bit easier on the revs and brakes as I've never done 12 laps around there before.
Just spent the last hour trying to upload some incar footage to youtube but it didn't work, will try again tomorrow, need sleep, long day yesterday, saw The Angels play at Shoppingtown Hotel last night.

To answer some questions...
No I haven't been back to Heathcote since my 13.4 on that 45 degree day.....
Yes I was going slower than normal at the 6 hour but there was a lot of traffic, I'm keen to go back to P.I. for a sprint to see if I can get down to my previous times (1.56)
No I'm not thinking of retiring just because Rodomo's painted his engine or whatever it is he's done

After about 3 laps the temp was higher than normal and at turn 4 under heavy braking I dumped some oil, I came in and discovered the reason why.
