Ronaldoredsox will be there with the Yellow Dolly XU2 competing in the regularity event. Who else is going and who else will be participating. Would love to catch up with some forum members if you are going to be there. Let us know who is going.

Did it get a squirt yesterday at the HSV day?
If so, what lap time?

It did not get a squirt at the HSV day. Very disappointed, but, the motor is having a little work done to it so it won't be ready until wednesday, just in time for saturday. Ron

If you go to The Rally of Melbourne, keep an eye out for Glenn Raymond, this young kid who lives over the road from me is currently 8th in the Australian championship in a '98 WRX prepared in a shed in the backyard of there house. He frequently sets faster times than the top factory drivers and he has a spectacular driving style and isn't scared to turn it on for the spectators.

micklx, yeah I think I read about him in the Herald-sun feature teh other day, would this be correct?
First time back to the ROM in a few years and as a spectator, a few years ago I was Service managing a P6 Class VR4 Mitso, that won it's class 3 years in a row,so didn't get to watch alot of the stages. So looking forward this year.

I certainly enjoyed the Phillip Island historic meeting I went to earlier this year, the sound of the F5000's is awesome! There is usually a good selection of Torana's running in the group Nc and group c categories as well.

Well worth making the trip :spoton:

I know its only a week but there is too much machining to be done and besides I didnt get my entry in in time.

There is a full grid of both under and over 3000cc cars with something like 18 toranas in the field!!!!!!. Some really fast cars there.

A bit of inside goss. PI historic for 2008 is in March the week after the AGP. There were so many cars there last year, in excess of 400 and of those over 300 practised on Friday. For the 2008 PI historic the meeting will be held over 3 days Practice and qualifying on Friday and racing all day Saturday and Sunday. The VHRR have dropped Group P,Q, R and Historic Formula Ford for 2008 and it would seem that it will be rotated over the yearrs with a category being dropped to allow the full grids to be filled.

Some of the people from the VHRR are not happy that there is greater leaning to tintops over the purist racing cars.

i went to the Sandown meeting last year and enjoyed it.
I'm giving it a miss this year and going to Phillip Island next year instead to get my yearly Group C fix and some shots from a track I've never been to before.

All 304 kilowatts shat themselves in practise today. 5 laps. Not sure but we think we have thrown a ring. You should have seen the smoke. Even the fire brigade came running. Engine OK (not destroyed and still running) but this weekend is over for Yella. I shall be there spectating now. Not happy. Hope to see plenty of you there. I will be the one with the miserable look on his face. And the red socks of course.
