Ok I picked the EH up last night after another week of rust repairs. The entire floor is now brand new and work on the left hand sill has been completed and also the left hand dog leg. Also I have been working on tidying up the engine compartment as seen in a pic below. Now to save some more money so it can go back for another visit for more rust and body work. Nearly forgot to add the big arse dent in the roof is now gone and will only require a small scim of body filler in a small section to complete it. Enjoy the pics and let me know what you think of the progress so far.

That is Hot...I have a Premier beside my house that needs all of the above....so does my Special :<_<:

Are the beaver panels steel or glass? I just picked up 2 glass ones for $55 ea.

Rear beaver is steel, front one is twisted to hell and back so I am trying to find a good steel one before I result to a glass one. Beggers might not be choosers though. I also just scored a perfect rear passenger door for 50 clams. Now I have four mint doors for this wee beasty.

Just got my front end back from the powder coaters, photo quality is poor as fluoro lights arnt the best for taking pics at night. I will take some better ones on the weekend in natural light. Anyway here are the photos I have at the moment.

it looks like your using hq steering arms there ? is that the right ones to use for the commodore rack, i was told to use the steering arms that come on the hr front end with my commodore rack kit ?

Yes they are HQ stubs, you can use either depending on what discs you want to run. using the HQ ones you do lose a bit of steering but it drops the car an extra 20mm by using the HQ items.

yeah i've got HQ stubs on my front end to suite the hoppers stoppers kit, but i'm using the HR steering arms as i was told if it used different steering arms then the geometry would be wrong when turning etc ....

reason i ask is i'd love to try other arms if i can get the tie rod closer to the centre of the stub as at the moment the tie rod end hits on the rim.

Sammy you are 100% right about the HR steering arms. I have to begin the search for some now. I know I have to stop giving stuff away untill after the car is finished. I had a set of arms but gave them away about 10 months ago.

sorry to be the bringer of bad news man, i guess atleast its not a problem at the last minute and you should have plenty of time to get some more....

and i know how you feel about giving stuff away, that happens to me all the time after i offload stuff i never think i'll need.

New home for fuel tank (Dunnydoor tank). Tank bolts in from underneath and sits a lot lower then above photo. The above phota has the tank sitting in the spare wheel well which no longer exsists. Third photo below provides a nice place for me to put a dry cell battery.

lookin good there!

those pipes are they custom made or what ?

i like the idea of the commodore tank, i was just looking in the boot of my partners EH Sedan today as she has been cleaning the whole car out to start work on it, and its pretty rusted so i was thinking what the options would be, a nice 65L commodore tank might be just the ticket!

The pipes are Custom I guess. They are what comes in the Pat Gardner V6 conversion kit.

looks absolutely tops mate. just wondering how much the powdercoat cost you cos i'm pretty sure I'm going to the same way, will bring up the engine bay really well I reckon.
I think you picked the perfect motor to slide in...
good luck mate.

Nice. One of the young fellas at work has a great custom EH, I'll have to get some pics as it may provide further inspiration.

From memory it was only about $300- $350 for the the crossmember, upper and lower control arms and both HQ stub axles. i will getting the engine mounts, trans mount, and diff housing also done to match the rest of it.
