Hope AMC didn't lift those pics from the siteSLR6, the car is black, not silver. That XU1 was on this website, someone here took those pics.

HiHas anyone ever flicked through old magazines and thought to themselves, I wonder if that car is still around? Well looking through the latest AMC tonight on page 122 I see a black Torana with flares and the silver SLR5000 down the sides. Now, someone else here may remember, but would I be right in thinking this car was in Street Machine back in either the late 80's or very early 90's? I'm sure it was some guy with long hair named Gabby or something like that who owned it at the time? Does this ring any bells for anyone and does anyone have the Street Machine or remember it? Is it the same car?
I was thinking was it the same car myself its sure in a bad way now. When car was in sm i did not like the engine bay paint but the rest of the car was ok. Hope it gets a second chance as it not looking good for it with rust in the door ect

But then again, lots of misguided males were wearing them back in the 80s as well
