Ahhh the 80s look.

I remember the article well. It was on the back of Street Machine for ages as an 'Eagermaniac' (god who remembers the old Bridgestone Eagers?)

*EDIT*

LOL love the description of the camshaft... "lumpy sounding trick cam"

I WANT ONE OF THEM!!! :D

That is sad, very sad  to let a classic suffer like that i only hope he comes to his senses and restores it or someone else rescues it before it's lost forever.

On a related note.. Kind of.. What the hell was that ford phase 5 in the 'Out of action' section. Was that ever a real muscle car? it looks like 'the Homer' that Homer designed when Unky Herb owned the car factory. I dont mind the occassional ford but surely that thing is a joke?

It is a most unattractive car, truly a creation from the Homer Design studio.

The SLR5000 (Demon) was my old mans car. Gabby Kaufmann, or as he liked to refer to himself KIng Gab. He passes away 5 years ago. The car was left outdoors on a farm and by the time i found her there was a heap of rust, someone pinched the compliance plates and drop tank, and it had certainly seen better days. It's a real heart breaker. The people want it out from where it's currently stored and I'm not really left with much of a choice but to sell it. Not sure what an slr full of rust with no compliance plates is worth.. Or what it would cost to get back on the road.. Any pointers?

Its definitely a car with some history behind it, I'm sure someone here would be more than happy to buy the thing regardless of the lack of tags.

No tags make it just another shell. Shame but 3 bits of metal can devalue a car so much.

This car was in an Street Machine ad. I don't see how that makes it more valuable.

I have to agree there Joe. Those sunroofs were the worst thing ever fitted to a car. Sorry if someone out there loves them, but they are crap. I remember a story about a black A9X in tassie and how the owner had loved it and looked after it and eventually sold it to some peanut. Later the old and new owners met and the new old owner asked about the car and the new owner said yeah it's even better now, I put in a pop up twin glass sunroof!
Every one I have ever seen has been dodgied up with silicone to stop it leaking!
