my 2 cents worth ! i havent watched this v8 serieis for about 11 years apart from bathurst cause lets face it ITS BATHURST , but arent all the muscle cars we want, and see Charger , gtho, gtrxu1 ,l34, a9x, the 2 door falcon rpos and what evercar ive missed desirable for a reason . they raced and proved themselves on the track . I can get anypart for my torana that peter brock had on his torana or anyone could get there parts for ford valiant etc etc you cant say the fords or holdens represent the cars you buy on the showroom floor. I say keep it as what ever they racing has to be sold with at least 500 made to specification in australia with a price cieling that they cant race anything to exotic the winners out of this are the manufacturers and the people who are lucky enough to buy 1 of the 500 and then joe blow who has a standard commodore - falcon or corolla for that matter can also but aftermarket bits to get his steed up to scratch i loved it when the groupc days were on i think everyone comes out of this a winner

I reckon the whole thing is about trying to go global so every chance this will happen.

5 year USA deal and this track isn't even finished yet.

I hope V8 supercars go belly up their so boring as are the drivers they have no character and are just a bunch of rich kids who,s parents paid for them to become drivers it's just a buisness. Most the people that watch it know very little about cars that's probably why they watch it and I would love to see a Mitubish EVO go against the boring taxis it would smash them. Cheers Aaron.

I don't watch it anymore, its boring as batsh!t.....

I watch Bathurst, but thats about it....

I wouldn't mind seeing it going back to the group A days.....or at least to a situation where there are differences between the cars.

At the moment its all nose to tail all the time which doesn't really float my boat.

Exactly my thoughts.

Yeh certainly is boring, tell me if there are any parts on those cars that are even close to factory Holden or Ford parts. Give up watching this ages ago.

Go to GTP and Production races.....the more in the gates and the less going to V8SC is the only way that more money will go into your "GroupA" will be the premier category.

Does having a V8 really matter? I like to see other makers try to beat a V8 with their turbo 4s and 6s.

James

i may have misread
but i don't believe it's called turbo 4s ' 6s and v8 supercars.
people have to realise that this category came about as a business decision
and business is all about money.
while bathurst will never be the same it is in my opinion still one of the best races in the world
it is very difficult to live in the past and not accept change
but for all you people out there who struggle
count yourself lucky that you still get to see the old cars that we all love
in the touring car masters,
and i hope that this series continues to grow in popularity along side V8 supercars
don't live in the past , appreciate all great motor racing for what it is
prompted coz some of these comments really piss me off!!!!
leave V8 supercars the way they are and form a new category 0f 4,5 ,6 diesel, petrol, turbo, electric, and we can call it
the australian le-mans series

iceman haha!! thanks barry!
just annoys me that most of the comments start with i haven't watched for 11 years
or however long
my god lads
sit on the lounge , turn on the TV and open your f%^^(en eyes coz you have been missing some of the
best motor racing you could possibly witness
touring car masters unfortunately is missing one word
nostalgic!
while i love it 's still after all the cars of the past
could you imagine if we were still made to watch the cars of the 30,s for instance
if you don't watch it don't then how can you be critical ?

The problem with V8 supercars is if you work hard you reach an age were you have some disposable income and you want to race but you can't afford it because you need to be a millionaire or have had rich parents to get you started. If GTP had manufactures backing and V8 supercar's hype and 30 car feilds I just imagine it GT's, GTS's, GS's, Clubsports, typhoons, SS's, XR6 turbos,EVO's,STi's, hot hatches and any other production car with class leading preformance and most regular hard working blokes should be able to afford a few seasons at some stage in there life and they are the people that should be racing because they are genuine enthusiasts. How many of the drivers have project cars or go to a car show to check out other peoples rides, you would think I would have seen one of them there occasionally not just to promote there company or driving a supplied FPV or HSV I mean a Torana, Charger or a old GT. Yes I watch the V8 occasionally when I am realy bored, there is nothing else to watch and it's raining outside but don't get into it because I don't care who wins because neither is a car me or any of my mates will ever own. Cheers Aaron.
