Ive head that Ecotec V6's have factory roller rockers and that they bolt onto a red 6...bit skeptical, got told this by a bouncer when i rocked up toa party, so i really got no idea if you can do it or not.

its been along time since i palyed with red 6s although its not going to be much longer before i build another one, any way if my memory serves me correctly are red 6 rockers the same as red v8s, if so will these also work on a early V8?

cheers adam

OK,

another secret Jason is,

is having a six cylinder 1 Tonner Clutch pressure plate Diaphragm,

placed into a standard six cylinder pressure plate.

This way, a light weight Torana has more clutch grip.

Talk about what fits, is a Secret too

theres lots on here about the top end but the bottom end on the reds did present oil flow problems one fix was externally fitting oil lines to get oil to the front middle and rear of the crank likewise the crank could be crossdrilled to do the same I had this done to my xu1 and had no problems the whole of the bottom end was balanced including the lightened flywheel it could run hard to 6500rpm also do not skimp and reuse big end bolts replace them

Adjusting distributor timing to the best position under load while driving, for most power.

I presume you have read Old Johnnos "how to" page?

I didn't see a link to it in the thread.

How about short head bolts where the inlet port has had the post removed?

If you shave the head you'll need to check the length of the front two head bolts, as they fit into a blind hole, the rest go into the water jacket. I nearly got trapped. My front bolts were too close to binding... not pulling the head down correctly.

Another trick is to supply good clean, cold air to the induction system, not this hot dirty puss from the headers. Cold air is dense air, therefore, more air, more fuel, more lovely block splitting Holden 6 power.

Regards
