G'day All
Have read and seen photo's in a number of posts people using the rotiseries when doing restorations.

I've got an LC which I'm restoring and its got some rust (surprise, surprise) so thought if I'm gonna do the top, might as well do underneath.

So, can you hire these (if so where, I live in Sydney) as I figure it would probably be cheaper than making one.

Any thoughts.

Cheers :spoton:

Somehow, I don't think so. Everybody who has posted pics has said they have made them.

If you have access to a welder and Simsmetal build it on a weekend easily and under a hundred , i built the one for my l34 with scrap steel , you dont need anything spectacular as its only to roll a very light car , and for nothing but my time which most people reckon is not worth anything , Surely if you cant weld then you must know someone that can , REX

Thanks All.

Dattoman if you can send me the pdf and pics that will certainly help.

Welding is OK on basic stuff, with some plans might even turn out alright.

Cheers

When I rebuilt my car. I went to supa cheap and bought 2 engine stands, got 2 old bumper bars and bolted them to the stands. And made a tie strap between the 2. Never had any problems with it moving around ect when I turned over to do the floor.

I built one in a couple of hours, prob cost me about 250 as i bought all new steel. Just a tip, design it to mont on the front and rear suspension mounts. I had both floors rusted, inner drivers floor kick panel plus both sills. If you mount on the bumper bar chassis holes and you have rust like that it will flex once you cut it out ,even if its done in sections. All you good welding could be undone when doors sills etc dont line up. Kev

I have seen heaps of them on forum and all are good if they work , you still have to work out centre of gravity , so make it adjustable a bit , With a lh or lx use old bumper brackets and weld a piece of rhs to that and a bit above that is your center < iF the bumpers can hold a car up with motor in it can defineately do it without , Look at my cheap under $100 dollar one in car projects , Ps you dont need one of those over engineered American ones , they are not needed , REX
