Hi Guys.

Michael (REDA9X), I'll agree that the alloys were a factory option, but what is the option number for the painted bars & the delete badge/fit decal.

Unless I see paperwork to say otherwise, I'll assume these were a dealer thing.

Not sure of the code on the bumpers, most likely just the code for SS bumpers, ( I had the paperwork for that car in my hands back when I looked at it, plus I rang the dealer and he remembered the 2 cars, absolutely, it came like that) i'd have to look, as for the badge/decal, I'll make you a bet right now the decal was standard fit on late LX SLR5000. What would you put up Terry? lol

I know this won't settle the debate because some people just can't accept they may be off target but here goes.
I again today spoke to the original owner who I brought my car off and questioned his response when I asked him late last week. He told me in no uncertain terms that this car came with a sticker/decal on the nose cone and he remembered because he ordered two spare ones thinking the decals were not going to last too long he said he used one when he tidied up the nose cone stone chips and is currently searching for the other because he thinks it's at his parents house somewhere and I want it.
Just to add to the late LX debate mine is a May 77 build and the owner told me his best mate who bought the same car(slr5000) at the same time from the same dealer only in green had the steel badge. The only difference was the white one (mine) was in the show room at the dealers his mates was brought across from Mollison motors in Kyneton.

WHO KNOWS

Hi Guys.

I read that section of the parts catalogue several months ago & it raises more questions than it answers.

What it basically says is that ALL LX VD 5 litres (SS 5.0 & SL/R5000) have the sticker & NEVER had the diecast badge.

We know that's not correct, the catalogue is therefore more than ambigious in that area.

I'm not saying that non A9Xs never came with the sticker, what I am saying is that I've never seen it before & have not seen any paperwork to verify their existance.

Dr Terry.

I can remember seeing late model ie after RTS SLR5000's in Melbourne in the early 1980's with the sticker. in more recent times the Antelope 64 Kms on the clock SLR had the sticker as well and had been stored for many years. Not proof but a personal observation made at a time they were ready available to see. You only had to go to the Drive Inn on a Saturday night to see half a dozen in Clayton or Oakleigh VIC :D

I take it as the the later cars had the decal, and the book I have is the March 1980 one, so it's listed the latest information. There are a few items the same as this through the various parts books. Either way, the cars came with both, absolutely 100%.

I see the Chamois LX is under offer. Love to know how much he forgot for it. Didn't take long to sell.

I noticed there is another A9X for sale in Palais white on AMCS. If I had the money I would be trading up.....

You would think the seller got within 5% of his asking price if it sold so soon, and if so, thats a great price that must raise the $$ bar for SLR's?
