Mmmmm nice suspension setup. Very nice

With the console kinda box thing, I think you should make the bottom of it curved around the transmission tunnel, so it looks like it's more of a custom job than an off-the-shelf item, and I'd defiantely trim down all the edges so that they are 100% square and flat before trimming it, and definately file or sand or route the edges where the panels join, into a curved shape so that the vinyl sits more comfortably around it. Otherwise... coming along well, I'm interested in seeing what else you put into the box

errr an update i have :) been a busy xmas considering all 3 of my cars decided they didnt wanna go no more so after $$$$$$$$$ being spent there all up and running apart from the torana. The torana had a few problems after being out in 37c on the torana car club xmas cruise it pointed out a few problems. problem 1 the carby lost a screw so i had a petrol leak, Thats now been fixed 2 the rad was really clogged up with black stuff a bit of a clean with radflusher and away we go 3rdly i think the thermostat is dead as the engine doesnt get hot the rad get's flaming hot first :S so i have a new themostat for it... i have some interesting updates it now has an electric antenna :) the head unit has been moved out of the gay little box i built, and in its new home under the glovebox, and the parcel shelf has been trimmed flat and doesnt look like the himalaya's anymore. my exciting update is as of february it will be completely stripped down to a bare shell and put on a rotissary which i recently purchased and taken to my panel shop to be resprayed in casino blue and black

Josh, are you aware that you can not register an LX Torana in WA with a 383 SBC? You will have to convince the engineer that you have a 350 SBC.

The maximum engine size for a hatch with a kerb weight of 1204 kg is 6020 cc. (367 ci)

You will have to check with the DPI what kerb weight they use for the sedan. Once you have the kerb weight the maximum naturally aspirated engine size is cc is the kerb weight * 5.

I think the kerb weight for a sedan is 1183 kg which gives 1183 * 5 = 5915 cc (360 ci).

ls2lx - yea 1183kg sounds about right for a sedan. Says that here anyway.

Cheers

lol who says it's a Chev? Might be a Holden 383 wearing 253 rocker covers and won't require any engineer's cert. :)

well i guess it's time for an update

i volunteered to be in the hot rod show to fly the perth city street machine club flags on the 29th and 30th of august so the rebuild was delayed a little bit.

Most of the stuff is just about ready for the rebuild engineering pre approved, decision on how much i have around 20-25k to spend it looks like i will be ordering a 350 4 Bolt Main Dart Block with Brodix Head's the rebuild should start to get serious in the next 2 months or so well... at least i hope so... panel and paint first then onto interior then while all thats happening driveline :) im aiming to have it debut at Motorvation 25 :)

well anyway just a little update guard was annoying me so i pulled it off to make it straight again
this is how it looked like after i was done
Posted Image

the dent will be dollied the panel primered then painted
Posted Image

then i got bored on my annual leave so i started on my boot setup which will be going in after rebuild
did a bit of templating and the final product
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

then that annoying noise coming out of my manifold
time for a new gasket so off comes the manifold
Posted Image

then that annoying little leaking rocker cover gasket
oops i broke something

Posted Image
what is it is it a sensor i dont need??

it came from here and plugged into the thing in my hand
Posted Image

anyway that's about it from me

should update soon with serious updates :)

cheers josh

Not really :tease:

Just jokin mate. Id go N/A but thats personal preference. I like everything under the bonnet/scoop.

Have you set yourself a deadline for it? Bodywork plans besides paint colour? Interior plans?

Well, seeing as its your money and not ours, its very easy to say just go supercharged and be done with it.

But everyone else does that anyway.

And you want something a bit different.

So, go N/A. Still looks, sounds and goes awesome, could even stroke it out to 383 if you wanted to mate.

Whatever you do, its probably been done before anyway. :)
