starting to finally see some results on the motor.the motor will have 11:1 compression.the block had previously been decked,and theres nothing left to take off.the pistion crown comes up ever so slightly above deck height.
the block has a stud kit,has been debured and had the oil galleries reworked.it has also been notched for the 355.no photos of the oil galleries sorry.
stud kit
the notching
debured
few assembly shots
we first tried to set the cam up with 2 degrees of advance.it didnt work out so we put it back 2 zero
im not going to make my goal of dyoing before chrissy.will just miss out :(.serious assembly starts monday.heads were finished today.will more more pics monday night.cant wait to see what the heads look like.
we will start on monday by throwing these in

purchased starter motor.striaght from holden.its of a vt,the bosh mini starter.
the heads came in and they look the goods.although i know nothing about porting.i cant remember all the stuff done to them.i know they have bigger valves,special teflon valve stem seals,crane retainers,crane double valve springs.think they are 120 pounds on the seat,and 300 pounds on the nose;
ports were hard to photgraph
inlet
exhaust
back to the motor.
finished dropping in pistions
checked crank end float
sump on welsh plugs in
timeing cover and water pump on
started putting on roller rockers,to work out push rod length
off topic a bit.
the engine builders hq motor.the motor has over 90 passes in the 12 second range.nice and reliable.if i get that ill be happy ;
the last 355 stroker he built,in a torrie.500 bhp runs 10 second quaters.the car came around last night while we were building.very tough
more work to be done today.we plan on running in cam tomorrow,and my pwr radiator finally arrived

last got some more progress on the motor;
got my manifold and rocker covers back powder coated.the guy that did them is very carefull.the manifold was sand blasted,but no mounting surfaces were touched.
heads on,balancer on,manifold on,painted.it took ages to paint it :(
got my gearbox and stally back today as well.its a slingshot 2600-2700 stall
im loveing this atm.if it works as good as it looks im laughing
with a bit of luck we will run the cam in on boxing day,fingers crossed.

this is how we finished;
this engine running stand, is a realy good idea and is made from a engine stand
we are hopeing to fire the engine up tomorrow and run the cam in.check for water or oil leaks.if all is good,drop the oil and off to the dyno by saturday week.
the whole idea of the engine run in stand and getting the carbie redone,is to save me money,on the dyno.im off to the dyno as prepared as u can be.

im to exhausted to tell the days story.
im so happy with the way it sounds,a few water leaks no big deal.better to sort them out now, than on the dyno at $80 an hour.soon we will be ready just to run in and tune..also had some starter motor dramas.i bought a chev starter instead of a 304 starter.:(.it started 1st go once we jump started it .battery we used 1st didnt have enough juice.
make your way through theese if u are interested.
the last one is proberly my fav. i apologise for mt bad filming
