Today's job was to move the crank forward more, to make it more comfortable to ride. This is what I ended up with

First step was to bend a length of water pipe to the same curve as the two 'prongs' the run down the middle of the frame:

Then I cut a bit out of the frame, cut away the original crank piece and tacked it in, adding a support from the top, following the same curve.

Then I mocked it up with the crank and back wheel to see how it looks:

Then filled the gap at the back in:

I reckon it looks pretty cool

EDIT: Woops, posted the same pic 4 times

Tomorrow's job is to build a new set of forks, because the pedals hit the front wheel now

Still got a bit of work to do on the frame and then the wheelie bars for the back. Going to weld a circular saw blade to the front axle to make it look tough as well. A bit of work to do but noe Im on holidays I will have some time. Looking forward to more updates Tim.

Updates to come today, I will be cleaning the whole shebang up, adding a bit of bog around the place and getting it ready to paint.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt one of the features of Mongoose bikes a TIG welded frame?
