I havent done a hell of a lot due to the motivation slump that we go through. Every time I went to work on the car I discovered something that I didn't like about the finish of the paint/body work, but Im over that now and want this finished so I can enjoy it. I need to cruise.....
Any way I got it home and started to do a couple of things
Did the Dynamat thing
Put the 9 inch in.
Installed the hood lining and door trims.
I did the A & C pillars in slate vinyl, looks better than the photos.
Still working on the tank.
Re-ran the washer hoses, bit tidier
Hid the wires in the engine bay
More to come.

I purchased an NPC lightened flywheel & clutch.
The foreman took over for the tricky stuff (Nieces son)
Put engine, box & hydrolic throw out bearing together ready to put in.
In she goes..
Just looks mean in this photo.
Shifter position.
Put the floor boot on & test fitted the console
Purchased some shiney bits and a gilmer belt drive, not every ones cup of tea but I likey.
I re-taped the dimister plenum.
Made some new tail light covers & covered them in slate vinyl, came up pretty good if I may say so. :-)
More to come.

I don’t like the original plastic covers for the back of the seats so I had these made up.
Dash arrived from Dash Original
And this is where I am up to at the moment.
I had a visit from Ando & his Hatch the other day, it was great to see his hatch and have a chat.
Thanks mate I feel like I have the motivation back, but it wont be cracking on at Dirtbags pace (He aint human )
Cheers, Paul.

Good call, you'll be a lot happier with a not-quite-perfect but finished car than a perfect one in a million pieces! Great progress already!Every time I went to work on the car I discovered something that I didn't like about the finish of the paint/body work, but I'm over that now and want this finished so I can enjoy it.

Love your attention to detail and the few little mod's you're making.
You're almost there, you can't stop now.
Cheers Mick.

Thanks Tim, might have to bring it up to your place for a bit of finishing off work (body/paint) before you get too busy.
I recon your hatch is going to come up a treat Tony, with that chamois interior, I'll keep my eye on that one.
Thanks Gerry & Mick, there was a lot of "do I, dont I" going on with the little changes, but in the end I said F#@K IT we all need to have our little differences. I'm keen to put the interior in, so I might start on that.
Cheers, guys & thanks for the kind words.

It was great to meet you, your son & your fantastic car! You have the perfect car because you are building it the way you want it & that accounts for everything!
I think your choices with finishing detail is spot on & whatever minor imperfections you see can be overcome & fixed. What you have done so far has inspired me to build a better car.
If I can help with anything, just call me. I hope to see you cruising soon.

All the little differences you have added make it even more special to you and makes it a one off.
Keep up the good work nearly there.
When you mash the right pedal and she puts you back into the seat it will be worth all the effort.
Top job and thanks for sharing your build with us all

Ando, much appreciated, but you have inspired me to build my car.
I sound like I was going to throw the towel in, no chance, but I was a bit flat and in a bit of a slump, all good now.
I shall be ordering the tail shaft tomorrow; do you think there is any advantage getting a 3.5 inch tail shaft over a 3 inch one?
Cheers.
