Sounds like a great day
My trip around OZ puts me in Sydney from 8TH April for a week being Easter dont know if everyone is going away or whatever but it would be awsome if you could tee up that week :spoton:
I could run my 80 series i will just turn up the boost and aim for sub 20 sec passes

Are there any other events on at Easter around Sydney?

attached for inspiration but somehow me think possible sub 11 second potential

So is the track day the plan for April, or for later on in the year?

The hire of the track would have to be for later this year,

THe discussion sort of stalled and it's something we would have to book, and then "sell tickets" for.

Unfortunately due to my hectic schedule at the moment, i just havent had time to even think about this stuff!

Cheers!

Its still early March plenty of time to do something even if it just ends up being a Wensday night and booking a lane
Id rather wait and go a time where alot of people can attend

Bit of a Bump - People are obviously still keen on this, and to get at *LEAST*40 entrants would mean inviting other car clubs and groups.

So here is my idea:

1) All entries are paid up front in full - NO REFUNDS
2) GMH-TOrana.com.au members have priority at all times in entries in case we get a large number of entries
3) We invite other clubs such as:
Sydney Torana Club
Monaro Owners Drivers and Enthusiasts (MODE forum)
HSV club
Maybe a ford club or something to race against too?
Of COurse GMH-T members mates too!
4) We look at putting on a few trophies and make it a similar day as BigT organised in QLD - but with cars that run >11.0 sec.

Please add your ideas and comments guys, This day is for YOU!

Oh.. and pick a date.... - I'll have to talk to John Henman about it but i think late May might be a good plan!
What day would be preferred? Saturday or Sunday? - I know alot of people work saturday!!

Do i need to race a Torrie Tiny? Would be in with the missus car if this goes ahead. I hate racing Wednesday nights and will only race at private hires like this if i can.

PM sent to :)

Torana's arent necessary. You are a GMH-Torana member and thats what counts... I mean the old man would race his monaro, he is a member and because he doesnt have a real car :tease: (no offence tiny :P)

ido9s: any car is welcome mate, As i mentioned being a member of the forum is the main thing about this day!

Mitch: Your dad's got the right care mate.. it's got the right badge!!

Rob: Dont blame you mate, i hate waiting hours for a run on a wednesday night, and thats why an event like thi will be heaps of fun!

Ok... so Can we have a bit of vote as to whether people would prefer a Sunday or a Saturday? It will be at LEAST 3 months off in my opinion, so we can try and choose whatever suits the majority best!

Cheers!

Hi Tiny. My car may well be off the road getting a repaint in three months, I really want to take it to Toranafest this year for it's first show, but in the event it's still in one piece I'll put my vote in for a sunday event. I will keep watch on this thread so I can let you know if I'll be a definate entrant or not. I could always run the wife's VX V8 Calais. It's not a Torana but at least it's a Holden.

I'm thinking a sunday might work best for most people, so that's the way i'l try to plan it.

Let's pick a date and see where it goes from there?

I'll contact John Henman to see if some time around the first weekend of June will be ok!

John has gotten back to me and basically the calendar for July1/2009 - June 30/2010 hasnt been finalised yet, BUT there are no events scheduled for July 5th and if we should want it, he can keep it clear for us for the day.

So we better get organised!!

Total cost for 40 cars is $8000.00 with 50% deposit required 2 weeks before the event. As such ( and seeing as i cant afford to bankroll the event) all entries will need to be paid up front!

We need a MINIMUM of 40 cars, and a MAXIMUM of 50 cars (Primary drivers) for the day, that means LOTS of racing!! - Second driver per car is just $50 and are more than welcomed!

I think sunday it will be, Are we happy/ready to get John to lock in the date as 5th of July 2009?
