I don't care who is in government, I just want them to do a good job for all Australians, but that it not what this thread is about.
It's about how you would spend the money, so try and be objective otherwise the admin team will just close the thread.

2. How to spend it? We're heading over to Western Australia for a weeks holidays, so the money will be spent well I reckon... anything left over (hahaha) I'll whack onto the credit card or the home loan.
3. Totally agree with Skapinad - this sponsorship idea for Channel 7's court battle to ensure adults only lesbian Home & Away episodes has some real potential

The Government is always right and obviously you deserved this handout.
Enjoy.

Its funny that his popularity is so high...I thought Australians were free thinkers. He can't buy my vote....no matter how much cash he splashes around. He started to show his true colours when he went off his head at the RAAFie chick on the plane to London...he is a media savvy dick head.
Bags puting this money on the credit card.

haha I did today when I realised that I will actually have change from my grant after insurance for the rana. No complaints there, I had a lot of luck todaySo did you go 'Woot' Heath? lol
To even it up I will probably write it off tomorrow on its maiden voyage.
And my best mate recently bought a TIG and today came home with a bottle for her, so I don't need to buy my own welder, just some more brown bottles to sink while we work on each other's cars
Love it!

I lodged a tax return last year, but i got every cent back... am I eligible?
Yes.. its not a 'tax refund' for people who have paid tax.. the reason they use the tax refund to see if people are eligible is because they just want evidence that you have worked last year.. and if you have, youll get some cash payment depending on the level of your income..
Hopefully youll get it

It would be nice to get something, it'd be going straight back to the government though ($434 worth of fines racked up on the weekend...)

Some more good advice:
The federal government is sending many of us a $900 rebate.
If we spend that money at K-Mart or BigW, the money will go to China ..
If we spend it on petrol it will go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will go to Taiwan,
If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala,
If we purchase a car it will go to Japan,
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Korea and none of it will help the Australian economy.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on wine, loose women and beer, since these are the only products still produced in Australia.
Thank you for your help.
Kevin Rudd & Wayne Swan .

A week on the Gold Coast, all next week.
Organised before the anouncement, will definately help with the entertainment cost.
$900 buys quite a lot of stripper time (or so I'm told)
Mine is going in the bank, with the rest of the "reassembling the LJ" fund!

Australia has to now go into a deficit, The government (as other people have said) should be spending the money on infastructure projects Roads, Hospitals, Enironmental sustainability etc. BUT they should also have alot of money ready in their piggy bank, to bail out the many families and low income FHB (first home buyers) who may experience the struggle of this recession which is yet to come. The Scary thing is Australia isnt officially in a recession yet, so who knows how bad its going to get.
End of rant
As for the question again im putting my money into short-term bonds, hopefully planning to pick up my first home for a bargain at the end of this year/start of next. I hope all of you guys think wisely before spending.
