Saw F 5000s race years ago at Oran Park.
Probably one of the last races.
Was the ARCO Graphite series.
For anyone that has never seen them race, they are absolutely awesome.
They sound right, and go unbelievably hard.

Great to see so many still around.
Will have to make a point of getting to see them again sometime.

Those Can Am cars seemed pretty cool. I remember at a race meeting last year the Bruce McLaren Trust had a partly restored CanAm car of bruce's. it looked a neat machine.

I was having a think today, and have a few suggestions if you do go to NZ,
Fly into Wellington rather then Auckland then check out Southwoods Car Museum just out of wellington, lots of stuff well worth a look, also at Wairou the Miltary Museum it is the NZ version of Aussie Anzac, there are a few other things I can recomend if you are interested, one being the local pools in Taupo on the Napier Taupo highway geothermally heated very relaxing and you can get a massage there as well, if you have any aches and pains you won't when you leave. Oh and if you are renting a car try using a ameraican car rental site, I rented a Statesmen VE for $5 more a day then Hyandia Getz, tryed doing it direct with loacl rental agency and VE was $80 a day dearer. Yet I got the car from the same lot. :spoton:
