l cracked 200 in my old A9X hatch, the car felt so stable and connected to the road it was remarkable. No wonder they made the basis of such a successful race car.

Cheers

ive done 200+ in my lc 4 door, 202, triple 45mm webers and a 3.08 diff, not too shabby. though there was a little puff of wind, and i ended up in the wrong lane!

When I was about 14 my bro in law had a genuine LC XU1 (he used to work for Dillons in Ivanhoe) I remember doing 100mph in 3rd between Yarra Glen and Healesville. That was on the speedo, who knows how accurate.

Those were the days! Country road. Not a cop for miles.

I had my old A9X doing 170kays once (wouldve got to 200 easy) ^ stuck to the road like glue as decribed by Mondie. My previous 'S' model LC with a 161 I had to 100mph but it was had harmonic vibrations everywhere! We all do it once I spose!

198km/h... which is all the 'D would do with a 6800 limiter & 4.11:1 gears. Got there in about 800m tho. :D

I got up to 170 in my Blue LX i only backed off because i could smell engine smoke.
My mates Green SS hatch got up to 180km, then he backed off because the road was ending.

I've mangaged to just go over 120mph before having to jump on the anchors to turn right at an intersection. The old torana brakes arnt to bad - if you only do it once!!!

I had my fully worked 202 UC/5spd up to about 175 and the thing was shaking like it was going to fall apart. The motor had a little more in it, but the car didn't.

When me and my mates used to all own torries that were on the road at the same time we used to have these nights where we'd go out through the mountains and out the back of Richmond all night long. I remember I was driving my mates UC, had the thing on the limit before valve bounce in 3rd gear (about 170-180). Then I look to my right and my mate passes us on the wrong side of the road in his LH like we were stopped. That thing flew and really handled. He said the neddle was off the clock and pointing to the kph sign.

180 (4800rpm) at a guess in my 202 LX (speedo only read to 160), she easily had more to go but i didnt like my chances of controlling it (felt a bit lighter on front end). Dont put your hands anywhere near the central heater vent when its on when attempting those speeds, burns like mad.

I have had my LJ at 200kph+. Not sure exactly what speed I was doing as gauge only goes to 200 and needle was covering the meter dial on the odometer. I found a nice straight section out the back of Sunbury
