Hi Everyone,

I thought i might make this post to summarise all the information in to one area for all the entrants and spectators to see.
Please keep using the original thread for questions and general discussion about the day.

I Will update this thread with more info that i have probably forgotten!

Firstly some information about the day/date itself:

GMH-Torana.com.au WSID Private Track Hire
  • Location - WSID Raceway - Off Ferrers Road Eastern Creek.
  • Date - Sunday 5th July 2009
  • Time - Gates open 08:00 - Registration and Scrutineering from 08:00-10:00 am - Racing from 10:00 - 16:00 - Lunch Break from 13:00-13:30
  • Spectators will require an entry pass - Each Driver receives 2 crew and 3 spectator passes so spectators will need to ask a driver to use one of their passes. NO payments can be taken on the day
  • Everyone must please Enter Via SPECTATOR's GATE - Be there at 8AM for TINY to hand out tickets for racers
  • Spectators not accompanying racers must PLEASE PM TINY with their full name so that i can sort out entry arrangements

  • There will be NO FOOD available - Please bring your own food and drinks for the day. Gas BBQs are permitted - away from the cars
  • Those who have Pre-Paid for Photography will Receive a sticker to put on their Windscreen - Please Place this sticker in one corner of the Front Windscreen so that the photographers know which cars have paid and will get their Photos!
  • 11.0 Sec Cutoff - Due to the rules all cars that "HAVE A KNOWN POTENTIAL TO RUN SUB 11.0 SEC PASSES WILL BE NOT ALLOWED TO RACE". They were the words of John Henman. He did say that they were NOT the fun Nazis, and if by some chance the car dips ONCE below the cutoff.. you will be warned but allowed to race.. but if you pull it off teh trailer and run a 10.80... forget it for the day! (and again... sorry... no refund!!). He did say that if you are *THAT* borderline... to just roll off the throttle at maybe the 1200ft mark so you stay under the limit.. that way you can keep racing!
  • EXHAUST - Must run a street style exhaust system - Much like the Wednesday night street Meets at least one functional muffler should be on the car........... (note the.......)
  • ANDRA Licensed Racers - Must PLEASE contact me and give me their ANDRA licence number to be added to the list.
  • As is listed below - Group C type Circuit cars WILL BE ALLOWED for this meeting - Even if they run Sub 12.0 Seconds, and ANDRA licence wont be required for this event only.

Taken from the WSID Information Brochure -
Primary Driver may bring two (2) crew members and three (3) spectators for that entry fee
A pre-arranged Second Driver, nominated for a given vehicle, permitted at $50
Intended for street-registered vehicles only however ANDRA-designated Super Street vehicles are permitted
No cars with potential to run quicker than 11.000-seconds permitted
No motorcycles with potential to run quicker than 10.500-seconds
Drivers must hold a civil drivers licence as a minimum or be able to prove that they have previously held a civil drivers licence
 P-plate licences are acceptable
 Learners permits are not acceptable
Bookings must be made at least 21 days in advance
Entry List must be provided by 3:00pm Wednesday prior to the hire date
Entry List to include names of all Primary Drivers with any corresponding Second Drivers listed adjacently
ANDRA-licensed competitors must have their ANDRA licence number listed adjacent to their name
Final Entry List, should there be any adjustments, must be provided by 3:00pm Friday prior to the hire date
WSID contracted catering is not available for private track hires
Drivers must wear long pants, long sleeves, enclosed shoes and an approved helmet (AS/NZS 1698:2006 or equivalent)
 Minimum lap-sash seat belt required
Motorcyclists must wear a MA-approved jacket and gloves, long pants (preferably leathers), boots that cover the ankles and an approved helmet (AS/NZS 1698:2006 or equivalent)
Strictly no alcohol permitted within the venue
Strictly no glass containers permitted within the venue
Strictly no animals permitted within the venue
Strictly no fireworks permitted within the venue
 Competitor Gate opens 8:00am
Registration and Scrutineering from 8:00am 10:00am
Compulsory Drivers Start Line Briefing at 10:00am
 Racing from 10:15am 1:00pm
 Lunch break 1:00pm 1:30pm
 Racing resumes from 1:30pm 4:00pm
 Pit/Paddock area cleared by 4:30pm
 Venue secured 5:00pm.

And also John's Latest Email to me:

First, I will need your entry list of competitors (Thursday, July 2 at the latest).
This list needs to specify the full names of all primary drivers and second drivers.
Second drivers need to be listed next to the primary drivers with whom they are sharing.
ANDRA Licence numbers, where they exist, should be included.
The list must also include the names of any photographers you have approved to attend.
When I receive your entry list, we print the tickets.
For every primary driver we issue 2 crew and 3 spectator tickets in addition to his driver ticket.
You collect all the tickets from us before the event probably on Friday, July 3.
Everyone enters via our main Spectator Gate (Gate 16).
Everyone turns right at the roundabout on the spectator entry road and gathers in the first car park area (on the right hand side as you drive in through the spectator entrance).
Tickets are distributed by the organiser to all entrants at that point. How you choose to do this is up to you Tiny.
They then distribute them to their crew and spectators.
In some cases, some entrants do not want crew or spectator tickets. These extras can then be handed out to other drivers crew and spectators as may be required.
Everyone must have a ticket (i.e. driver, second driver, crew or spectator ticket) to enter the venue.
Children must have a ticket to enter.
Entrants then drive down Castlereagh Boulevard to the ticket booth. At this point their ticket is torn and they proceed along that road and turn into the pit area (like we do with spectators on a Wednesday night street meet).
The security guard will have a copy of your entry list and will tick names off the list as they enter.
We usually run a full tree all day with these events. But we can accommodate a change from Pro to full if you wish. Just let me know.

ANY RACERS WHO HAVE NOT PMd TINY WITH THEIR FULL NAME AND ANDRA LICENCE NUMBER MUST DO SO IMMEDIATELY PLEASE! - I Must send this to WSID the Week before the meeting so they can have our tickets printed! I Also must have the names of SECONDARY drivers ALONGSIDE the Primary Driver they will be racing with!

Cheers!

Do you need any more details of the cars Tiny? May be a good reminder to those whose details you still need.

Once we get our tickets at 8am, we forward to scrutineering and race etc, but are we permitted to exit with the view of re-entry at any time and if so, how many times may we return?

Hey Guys!

Hmmm I have not asked about exiting and re-entry!

To the best of my knowledge gates are closed and locked to keep the general public out, but i agree - fuel runs and the likes will be needed!

I will forward this to John Henman as a question and get back to you!

ASS308 - There are still spots left mate! if you want to race please let me know ASAO cause i've gotto make payment and send the entrant list in shortly!

Cheers!

The general minimum requirements for safety of your vehicles are:

Radiator overflow bottle - NO Fluids are allowed to escape the vehicle onto the racing surface
Throttle Return Spring MUST be fitted
*TRANSMISSION LOCKOUT SWITCH MUST BE FITTED AND WORKING* - they WILL test this - If your car starts while in gear you will FAIL and be PREVENTED from racing!!! (I've seen many people get knocked back on this!!)
Helmet must be in date and of approved design
Long Clothing must be worn including enclosed shoes

If any other racers can think of anything, please add it to the list!

If it's OK with you guys, I would prefer a little overcast.. Warm is ok, but bright and sunny is a PITA to get the best photos due to the high contrast / shadows...

Hi Terry,

John Henman has gone on annual leave, so that's why i wasnt getting any answers!

I've spoken with another lady there who will be looking after us, and she says the gates will be manned by security who will let people out as needed, and sepctators in through the day if they have a ticket!
It'll be a problem for me to make sure everyone HAS their tickets that's all!

Getting out for fuel etc wont be a drama, and we all come in via the spectator's gate!

Jay's - Have responded!

Cheers!

Ok, just a couple of questions so its all clear:
- We are meeting at the spectators entrance at 8:00am?
- All our spectators must meet at the same time, or will we be able to hold onto the spectator tickets until they arrive?
- Helmet date must be AUS/NZ 1698:2006? Is AS/1698 no longer accepted?
- Would you like Dad to bring the BBQ from his school to cook up sausages etc? and finally,
- Tiny you have booked for perfect, cool weather?

From what i understand Mitch, the security guard will be at that gate to allow ppl in and out for fuel and i suppose if you hold onto tickets then when your spectators arrive you will have to meet them at the gate and hand over the tickets.

And my old bike helmet had the old sticker so just to be sure i borrowed a mates go kart helmet with this sticker,

Hi Terry, mate the reason Mitch was asking is that my helmet is the older A/S and at the Wed night meets I was told it was OK as I wasn't an ANDRA car, not sure if this will apply on Sunday. Just bought 2 helmets of Ebay very cheap ($20 + p&h)) with the later A/S markings pretty sure they aren't as good as my Nitro helmet but will help pass scrutineering.
