Hi Guys,

I've recieved an Email from John Henman regarding the procedures for the day AND clarifying the helmet issue!

Sorry this wasnt raised earlier!

In terms of your question regarding helmet Standards, please refer to both the Track Hire Agreement document and the current ANDRA Rule Book. I have no room to move on this issue Tiny, so I really do hope everyone already has the message. The Standards acceptable at this track hire are as follows:
 SNELL SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.2A (US)
 SNELL M2000, M2005, SFI 41.2A (US)
 BS6658-1985
 AS/NZS 1698:2006
 AS/NZS 1698
Please be aware and advise all drivers that helmets bearing the previous Standard AS1698 cannot be accepted.

Regarding spectators, we issue three spectator tickets for each Primary driver. The idea is that you distribute the crew, second driver (where applicable) and spectator tickets to your Primary drivers. Thereafter they are each responsible for distribution among their own people. I do not want to work from a list of names for a couple of reasons; one being that everyone who enters the venue must have a ticket of some description. I will allow an extra 20 spectator tickets to be printed as requested earlier today.

So, based on the entry list before me, we will issue tickets as follows:
 47 X Drivers
 11 X Second Drivers
 94 X Crew
 161 Spectator tickets (i.e. 141 plus extra 20).
On Sunday morning, we'll have everyone initially entering via Spectator Gate (Gate 16). At around 10:00am, we'll close the Spectator Gates and move over to our Competitor Gate (Gate 14 - our Pit /Paddock entry gate close to ECR's Gate 7). From then onward, all entry and exit will be through the Competitor Gates.

I've attached TWO files for you to look at guys,
1) The days proceedings so you guys can understand a bit better how it will run ( and me too!!!)

2)The entry list as sent to WSID - Could you please have a quick check of it and make sure it's right (Check spelling and ANDRA numbers!)

Cheers everyone!

extra 20 tickets sounds good :)

I'll be there with Karlie and a mate (torana owner, trying to get him to sign up!), planning on getting there around 8ish.

Should be a great day, even as a spectator!

Ssssshhhhhh.......don't tell anyone. :D

I reckon you'll be safe. Once they see your car they'll probably just do a quick check under the bonnet.

On a side note, I just saw Tiny's surname on the list.

Sounds like a 'very fast torana in italian' lol

Cheers Mick.

Me. Ive got to get a new one as well.
Funny thing is, I was at Powercruise in March 2009 and they checked my helmet and said it was OK.
Prior to that, I was at WSID in FEb 2009 and the AS1698 was OK. Something has changed recently, very recently or they've not worried about it in the past.

^ Today, when I bought my new one there was plenty of AS 1698 helmets on the shelf, so look closer at the aust standards sticker and what is required, took me over an hour today to check it out.

This issue was only raised to myself and dad when they questioned each other whether we should be allowed to race with the AS1698. Im glad its been raised before the day and not have people get in cause of the incorrect helmet. We purchased a couple off ebay last weekend, and am hoping they will be here by the weekend.

I seen plenty of SNELL M2000 with only AS1698, so I assumed they would NOT be accepted?

Just stating a fact, Im sure here is not the place to hash it out but it is quite confusing.

Its a ANDRA rule come in last September I think, due to the testing methods involved the AS1698 only is no longer acceptable and is outdated it needs the :2006 or AS/NZ for it to be legal, yes you can still buy them off the shelf, its just not the correct standard for drag racing, yes the new ruling has caused a mess, and most street meets you will get away with it with a warning because they are sick of turning people away, but you have been warned for a private track day so use at your own risk.

Just a thought. would it be possible to give the entrants their spectator passes at the start of the day? so the entrants can hand them out.

What would the forums do without Tiny! What a bloody Legend!

Remember guys! Lots of PICS!!

(Also, I'm Glad Heathcote isn't as strict as WSID! It doesn't have to comply with ANDRA rules....)
