I seen plenty of SNELL M2000 with only AS1698, so I assumed they would NOT be accepted?

From WSID statement above

"The Standards acceptable at this track hire are as follows:
 SNELL SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.2A (US)
 SNELL M2000, M2005, SFI 41.2A (US)
 BS6658-1985
 AS/NZS 1698:2006
 AS/NZS 1698 "

At the time that particular helmet was made , the AS1968 was the only Oz std it had to relate to.
Obviously the M2000 standard is equal or better than the new AS/NZ 1968 standard as it is still an acceptible helmet in ANDRA's eyes.

Standard AS1698 cannot be accepted/ why is this so as many of occasion i have used this helmet in the past & not that long ago.

Because the ANDRA rules changed this year to keep up to date with the latest std for helmets.
Happens in industry all the time; you are supposed to comply with the latest AS/NS std.Bets are off on any previous std.

Im glad its been raised before the day and not have people get in cause of the incorrect helmet.

I mentioned it last Thurs on the main track day post.

Hi guys,

The helmet issue is one i didnt forsee myself, and ive gotto apologise for that!
My helmet is new from rocket and i've never had to worry about it!

I hope it doesnt cause too much grief for everyone!!

In relation to the spectator tickets, ALL entrants will receive their allotment of spectator tickets when they get theirs, to hand out to their friends as they need to! this again will help me HEAPS :)
Again though i'd ask the if a racer knows they will have spares, that they leave them with me to give out to other members who are coming for a look-see.
I Really dont want people to miss out after having travelled to watch the day!

Thanks again for the support, it'll be a top day!

In terms of your question regarding helmet Standards, please refer to both the Track Hire Agreement document and the current ANDRA Rule Book. I have no room to move on this issue Tiny, so I really do hope everyone already has the message. The Standards acceptable at this track hire are as follows:
 SNELL SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.2A (US)
 SNELL M2000, M2005, SFI 41.2A (US)
 BS6658-1985
 AS/NZS 1698:2006
 AS/NZS 1698
Please be aware and advise all drivers that helmets bearing the previous Standard AS1698 cannot be accepted.

Just regarding the helmet issue above, I have a Shoei TZ-1, about 7 years old, which wears the AS1698 sticker (on the outside in the normal spot). Based on the above, i thought it was new helmet time.
However, it was pointed out to me yesterday, that there is a separate sticker inside the helmet (i'd never even noticed!) that says M2000 SNELL!! As M2000 SNELL is on the approved list I guess it's fine to use. Any experiences from the recent track day?

Cheers, H

I had the same problem on the race day, my old helmet had both stickers (as1698 & m2000 snell), i bought a new helmet anyway. I showed my old helmet to the scrutineer on the day & he said AS1698 & M2000 SNELL was acceptable. So your helmet would be fine!
