Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone has a model torana without the flare etc like the nearly all have?
I have seen only one on ebay before that was a green hatch with the original pin stripe down the side, and the selling said thats how that model was released -as an original SS Hatch. If anyone knows where there may be a papaya with the orange stripes may be and for sale please let me know.

G'day Matt

I can tell you that Biante, and AFAIK, no other manufacturer, has brought out the LX SS Torana in stock format.

I did ask Biante a number of years ago whether they would release one in 1:18th scale, and the answer was yes. No idea when that might be though

I, like you and many other would be very interested in getting a model of the SS

I got 1.64 amd 1.43 cars too but just XU1s. think at last count ive about 100 of the 1.18 models, at a replacement value of 30k,
MODEL COLLECTING ITS A SICKNESS :fool:

Sweet little collection Jamie,

I collect the 1/43 V8 supercars but have been slowly slipping in the odd 1/18 race or street car.

Expensive little hobby and the collection always seems to outgrow the display cabinet there in!

i have been trying to track down a model of a LH,LX torana but in the jamica lime colour has anyone seen one every shop i ask it isn't there but i know toranas came out in the colour surely they would have a model of it got most of the other colours any ideas? :spit:

I only collect 1:18. Mainly Toranas. And if it's a Torana, it's an LH or LX. I grabbed Possum Bourne's WRX when it came out. I may part with that one, but it depends on what people are willing to pay for it.

I just got hold of a 1:18 28C Brock LJ Torana today thanks to a forum member here. I have been searching for one at the right price for years. In total I have 40 cars in my collection now... :D Two real ones in the shed too :rolleyes:

1 x LJ GTR XU-1 28C Brock 72 bathurst car
1 x LJ GTR XU-1 Mustard
1 x LJ GTR XU-1 March the 17th green
1 x LH SLR 5000
1 x LX SLR 5000

and a couple of smaller LJ XU-1 in purr pull, tangerine and salamanca red.

I have a heap of hotwheels, mainly treasure hunts or "real" cars, I ahve also got some bigger stuff, mainly american though.

Was walking past games world this arvo and had a look in the shop window as you do and saw a Chrome Yellow L34, which was released in Feb 2002, price $250, I told the missus I would love that so she went in and got it as I was looking at the latest Aussie Muscle car mag in the newsagents, what a women. I have also secured the yet to be released Brock/Richards 79' Bathurst winning A9X. The collection isn't very big but your've got to start somewhere.

yes kangur they did ive got just about every 1/18 lh lx they made.

lx5008 did they come out in mandarine red?.If so I will have to start looking around for one.One day I plan on buying a mandarine red LX SLR 5000 to match my SS hatch(so I can have a pigeon pair like you :D ) and it would be nice if I could get matching models of these cars.

kangur mandarine is the only colour they made as far as i know in the lx slr5000. i think some stores may even have some old stock. they were not big sellers for some reason. i even see them on e bay sometimes. ill keep a eye out for ya.

Thanks Graham,I will keep my eyes on that one.Its a shame they haven't made an SS yet but hopefully they will and I hope that will be available in mandarine red as well.This one on ebay seems very cheap,what did they sell for in the shops?.

the non race models were about $130.00.race models are about $180.00

the one on e bay seems a bit to much.

I don't know whether we are looking at the same model Graham,the one I saw is supposed to be in mint condition and the starting price is $95 thats why I thought it sounded cheap especially if they were around $130 new

the 1 1/8 scale biante lxslr5000 i saw was $265.00 it had 7 days to go and was under buy it now
