Well I'd like to thank you and your club for a very well run event. (you've got it down to a fine art)

I thought the entrants bag (goodies bag) was fantantic. As entrants we received more in value than the cost of admission to the event. :spoton:

Liked the early auctions and early award/trophy ceremony as it allowed people to leave early and travel home.

Only constructive criticism I could make is there seemed to be less trophies this year (I liked previous years set up) but you don't go to these events to win trophies but it is nice to receive one.

That's it, great day, well done Mick and the Hunter Valley Torana Club.

Give yourselfs a pat on the back (or a cold beer),

Regards,

Mick.

Mick, it just keeps on getting bigger and better, aided by a great venue and once again the weather Gods smiled upon us all again.

And, sure, being recipient of an award was great but that was just icing on an already first class cake. Looking forward to next year already, the planned two day format will sure work for me!

hi mick, wow it was great for me and my family, but my boy's got a little tired
from walking around the loop three to four times. it was dad's fault i didn't
know it was going to be so big of a display, man it was great to see though.
and the range of colour's were awsome, L31A9X Posted Image was my fav.

p.s. thank's too for the switch fascia panel very happy,
so was the young bloke with his first sale :)

Thanks for a great day.

I wasn't sure how all the cars entering was going to flow in smoothly (my first Torana fest), but you guys did such a great job.

I vowed 15 years ago never to enter a car show again (bad experience), but after being at the Torana fest, meeting the people, the cars I will be back next year for sure. Like I said before I wished that I ticked yes for my car to be judged as I didn't think I would be able to bring any special to the day, but I was so wrong.

I was wondering if you have tried in the past/thought about having a certain section for certain cars?

I know it would be hard to organize with clubs also getting together.

I suppose the way it was day gave a very good mix to the day rather than LC,LC,LC...LJ,LJ,LJ...

What are your thoughts Mick?

Mick once again I think you and your club have put on a fantastic show, and I was so proud to be apart of it!

I only have one thing to pick on. You need louder speakers for the microphone at the awards ceremony!
That is all.

Had an awesome day! even though I didnt have my torana there this year, it was still a really great event.

Only gripes I have for the whole thing-

the attitudes of the people coming into the area (something we have covered before)

Lee (LJ355) made a pretty good suggestion, a flyer to hand out stating "car show ettiquete" or something similar might make people a bit more aware of why they are getting asked to move away from cars, or to stop touching.

The other suggestion that was made, was PA system announcements about the same issue (ie. make sure you are keeping your kids in check and let them know not to touch any of the displays, we have cars worth in excess of $XXXX amount of money here today) or something similar, just so that it might help make people think about what they are doing and it gives us soemthing to refer to (didnt you read that sign, didnt you listen to the announcements)

The only other drama we had with the day, was being placed right infront of the food vendor. It was good when it came to wanting food, but the small width of the footpath saw people lining up towards the front of our cars and in some cases brushing past them with bags, belts etc. It just made for a pretty hairy day of watching people squeeze through or even go to rest their ass on the car while waiting in line.

Might work better if we could leave a nice big space infront of the food so the lines can go into clean space, rather then the front of cars.

But other then that, awesome day, awesome people. I think it took me 2 hours to do the outside lap, I kept running into people and having a chat (Karlie loved it..... :) )

Congratulations to the Hunter Valley Torana club, and thanks for making Max (Aubert) feel part of the event, he had an absolutely awesome time and will no doubt be back next year!

Another day to remember , biggest problem I needed another ten hours , just not enough time to have a look at all the cars , and catch up with everyone . The cars were stunning , people friendly , great weather except for five minutes .The club displays , awesome , and the clubs that came from other states well done ,a great effort , from the members to attend .I had a great day as usual ,well done to the Hunter Valley Torana Club , and the dedicated members for their hard work .

Once again mick and all the crew, A fantastic day!

The weather, The cars, The people, everything was fantastic!

The only gripe that Simmo had was the toilet facilities for the ladies were very dirty and smelly!
Maybe portaloos or a truck-ablution block would be the go next year!I Just dont think the council facilities are up to the volume of people that come out for this!

Cheers!

as a major sponsor of toranafest 2009 i would like to say how proud we are to support the torana community and ronald macdonald house..

an event like this could not be executed without the sheer passion and dedication of the committee and members of the hunter valley torana club and all the other helpers..

we will be back as major sponsors for 2010 as well... :Buddy:

I really like the cars that had the GMH-Torana.com stickers with user name on them.... Although I didn't actualy get to talk to anyone due to the rushed nature of my visit this year (although I did speak to Simmo breifly when he was pointing out his cars flaws to someone!), it was great to identify the forum memebers cars.
My wife, dad & son came along, and enjoyed it... my wife even asking me if I'd enter, so maybe....
