Thanks Ben its been 4 years in the build going on to 5, i tried too do all the work myself but here is only so much one guy can do.

gen3torrie i am not a qualified machinic or painter or anything in the automotive trade i just enjoy working on cars, not all the time as we all know you have good days and bad days, it's amazing what you can do if you really want to i still amaze myself when i look at the photos that i have posted knowing i built that wondering how.

Yep that is AWESOME. Love the drop tank and plumbing - looks heaps better than polished alloy. Wheels really suit it too.

Hope mime turns out even better - cos then it would be the BEST !!

Nice car
Kinda lost me with all the red underneath
But I like it

Did this car used to be white ?
I've seen a white one with the same tank design

Really nice job on the hatch so far. Not only is it good to see a torrie with big feet that actually sits right, it even has a real gearbox, not a big horsepower stealing oil pump.
I like that you've done a couple of things a bit differently like the tank set up and bonnet scoop. Small block with webers doesn't hurt either : )
I definitely like the chrome bumpers. Body colour would kill the look in my opinion.
Well keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more progress as you post it.

dattoman actually the car was originally green but when i bought it, it was white with blackouts, the tank was on the car as well but when i pulled it out to clean it up that's when i realized it was a piece of crap, it had looked like it had been made out of scrap alloy that had been laying around on the ground, so i had a brand new one made the same but thicker, stronger and with some small modifications.

This car is an absolute credit to you. I keep trying to tell everyone its amazing what you can do if you just try and give it a go yourself and you have well and truly proved it this time. Congrats and hope to see it in the flesh one day.

every once in a while a car/build comes along that really jumps out from the pack and sits you on your arse, and this is one of them!
love it!

Awesome DIY build. The finned oil cooler mounted near front sway bar work better mounted length ways so the air runs full length of finns on the cooler. Is the tail shaft loop mounted front or rear ?

Mate, This hatch is a damn credit to you, I Hope when you get to drive it, you feel like the king of the road.

Theres nothin better than looking back at progress pics and sometimes going " Shit, I actually done all that myself" That feeling is better than winning lotto

Going from the start of the thread, i thought "Yeah right some pro paint/panel and mechanical shop owner doing a build up"..... but then read the post that your just an every day bloke thats into his cars, That spun me out.

Keep up the Elite work.

Cheers :spoton:

scottya! yes you are right about the oil cooler but i couldn't find anywhere else to put it to keep the oil lines away from the exhaust. Also i would've had to drill more holes in my floor to mount it. As the way i've done it no holes had to be drilled to mount it, as for the tail loops you are half right there's 2 of them ones at the front ones at the back just to be on the safe side.

Barman- I have built some other Toranas before this one which i will post some photos of, so when i started this one i said to myself this is the last one so i wanted to push my skills to the limit to see what i was capable of as i want to keep it for a long time unless someone offers me sh*# load of money, so i will have to decline on the offer thanks anyway.

To everyone you has commented on my Torana i would like to say a big thank you as it has been a long road with some highs and some very, very big lows which has almost pushed to the point of breaking. But with all things in life you just have to keep pushing on so thank you to everyone for your praises and accolades as this means more to me than you ever could imagine and given me that extra push i needed to keep going. My deepest thanks from BLACK DICE

That, mate, is without doubt the sexiest hatch I have ever seen... The fuel tank is a work of art!

fatslr: not much left to do except to finish the wiring and get it checked, brake lines need to be made, finish the interoir that i started, exhaust to fitted and tuned than get it registrated. If i had the money i would have it finished on a month. Oh, well i'll get there one day, so to help past the time i thought i would post some photos of previous rides.https://cache.gmh-torana.com.au/i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab29/BLACKDICE05/IMG_0245.jpg?t=1264666161src="https://cache.gmh-to...g?t=1264665289" />Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
