Just wait at see... They might not even notice! Worse case it's on the list of things that you have to fix!

Chances are neither does the mechanic doing your rego check...

If it looks like its working, they'll more than likely assume it is ;)

^ THIS!

...yea I guess yea worst case if they ask for it put it in, if they even notice it's missing, they're gonna knock you back at a rwc inspection anyway.

There could also be a benefit to having such a simple thing missing, might make them stop looking for nit-picky other things....

Well ive had a bad day went to get the alignment and balance and they stripped a front wheel stud and the thread in about half my wheel nuts
Then driving home the diff went with a nice bang.
So its lucky i have a spare car i can steal parts off .
So before next wednesday i have to
-replace the diff
-reseat the front drivers side spring
-replace the passengers side brake calliper as the piston wont push in and keeps grabbing the disc hard
-get new wheel nuts and centrecaps
looks like ill be calling in sick tomorrow so i have a chance of getting it done

Geezus mate, that's a rough hand you were dealt today. Sorry to hear you got a whole bunch of headache. I reckon some of the advice in the previous pages is worth taking on board. Some of us have been busy waiting to fix up the torana out the back for a decade. IMO. I reckon the trick is to be patient and then be patient some more. Save up some dosh and get a reliable and useful car, something cheap to rego, cheap to fix and cheap to run. Boring but useful and don't do anything to it. Put the torrie on blocks and start chipping away at the dream build. You can plan, plot and scheme. Believe me, you can waste a lot of hard earned cash trying to get an old car snazzed up and still out the driveway every morning to work. It's a lot harder to do it right and you will keep putting yourself in a financial hole when things go bang......or alternatively....if this advice sounds like old guy stuff ....., go hard dude and may the force be with you. Long Live Toranas.

Cut the rusty bit out and pop rivet a patch on it.
