I love working in the automotive trade...its easy to remember what things are because usually they are named after the job they do...you know a Voltage Regulator regulates voltage etc etc.

I know its a case of small things amuse small minds but back when I started my trade we
used a paper based system where if the user found something broken they had to submit a piece of paper (what we call an EMEFIX) and that came to us at the workshop..and from there the affected equipment got repaired. Thing was alot of the operators aren't rocket scientists...so we had a big white board with the monthly spelling list. Top of the list was usually "brocken" but there was always enough to fill the board up...my favourite was a guy needing something cut with an "ankle grinder".

Reason I bring it up is i think we need our own spelling list and I'm gunna kick it off with a couple of perennial favourites:

Strongberg
Strongbird
Rocket Cover

theres a million more...see if you can add a few.

I suppose we can include stuff like "3/4 race cam"...which can be looked at in 2 ways... if used in a V8 it is enough lobes for a 6 cylinder...or its just plain silly as nobody wants to only go 3/4 of a race.

If you're going to start a thread about spelling then you really should get your own spelling correct :

here is one that im not actually too sure of-

I always assumed in was 2 pack (as in the parts come in two different packs?)

because 2 pac was a black dude (and the paint comes in more then one colour!)

tripple is always a good one to search on ebay, people wrongly list all the time, same with other things (but if I told you Id have to kill you!)

rocket cover always poos me.

manaro.... like camero they both shit me

My biggest pet hate is OF when it should be HAVE. As in " I should OF done it " should have been " I should HAVE done it "

Touché

Dont you just hate that crap...how can I show my face in public now?

now we are crossing into grammatical errors ...and that's a whole different shooting match...it deserves its own thread...Suffice it to say people would learn a thing or two about English then...for sure.
