how did you do your steering setup has it got the 2 LH knuckles?,how do you find it to drive as in feel on the road is there anything you would do different?

ive got the 2 LH knuckles i find it a bit harsh might modify it to take a rubber coupling

Yeah the V8's way more fun, besides thats how they should have come from the factory anyway, what sort of dollars did the extractors set you back? The extractors ive got at the moment arent to bad, but an upgrade to VN heads on the new motor's what im thinking

Yeah, I'll pay that. Sounds like a really nice combo and would be awesome fun in a nice light LJ. Good to see you've done the extra things as well like brakes to make it an all round quality car.

Peace,

Mate the extractors where about $750 i bought them then had them coated not knowing you can buy them already done from jethot ive got the chassis kit in but its not welded and my steering set up is a little different to some ive seen mark at MD conversions done mine using a splined shaft with splined knuckles it feels nice to drive i love good brakes to it just so nice to know youve got them when you need them if they save you once there paid for ! ive just bought a SSZ ute with the brake upgrade aswell i think in future that would be a nice setup on a torry ive also got a LX hatch with 55.000kms on it its original like the day my grandfather bought it when he passed away he left it to my mum to give to me when i was old enough its sitting in my dads shed now he starts it once a week to keep things going and i keep it registed but hows this im the only one thats travelled in the back seat when i was a kid ! sorry to get off the subject im using john at consulmotive for my engineers report.

Yeah mate its all good as long as it is the right hose and mounted every 300mm its fine when you do yours make sure its on the outside off your chassis rail just incase your flywheel lets go.

Hey mate just wondering were your extractors off the shelf or were there custom made (did you have to take your car there with motor dummied in it) Also do you have contact details of the joint that did the pipes.

oh sorry were they castlemaine rod shop pipes (if so stuff that) i have a set for early heads and when i bought them they didnt even fit had that much problems then sent the car off to Hallam performance to get them fixed up all the clearances were upto shit and hitting everywhere mainly on the chassis kit and the steering. Hopefully they have improved there products and you didnt have the problems i had for the engineers.

Regards: Steve

Looking good LJ355. Just out of interest, has the engineer mentioned anything about illumination on your pro-ratchet? Theoretically the gear indicators are supposed to be illuminated - I added some little LED's to mine so I could see what I was doing at night without the need for a torch :D

Peace,
