Very nice car indeed, mine is nearly finished but I am quite/very reluctant to take it to Toranafest or any car show for this very reason. I'm sure only the fanatic" rivet counters" will pick anything on your car, ignore them, most others who appreciate any well built Torana will admire it for the finish & standard you have presented the car in & the work you've done to get it there. Well done!!

lol, tossers will always be tossers Grant.

Car looks grouse :)

Yep don't worry about the cock knockers Grant the world is full of em, when someone starts hackin on the old man's car about this not being original or that not being correct I point out to them that the fact they don't even get what the whole car is about makes them even more of an imbecile than they were thirty seconds ago. Yeah they don't like that.

But on the flipside there are heaps of people that have been watching this thing come together and think it's simply divine, I know I'm not the only one who falls into the second category, well done dude well done.

Yeah doesn't have to be original unless you want it that way.

I'm keeping the flares on mine and I don't give a fr0ck what anyone says.

Great to hear you can drive her now Grant, she's come a long way!!

John,

sort of sorted the carbies but they are not fully 100% put it on the dyno and got 180 HP at the wheels or 225HP at the fly wheel so with a shit box parts engine that i bought for $2000 bucks I'm pretty happy with that, in fact i'm stoked !

ps - i  had no idea what i was doing with this engine , Ive never built an engine before, or even partly planned this engine

they tell me now, the cam is too big - the cam was with the engine parts , and I didn't ask and no one informed me on the size , it was sort of the last thing on my mind.- it sounds awesome though !

Its; Gross valve lift .556

duration @ .015 tappet lift 313

duration @ .050 intake 261 exhaust 261

lobe lift .371

lobe separation 108.0

over all it's now a lot more drive able, but it's could be a lot more crisper in the 1- 2.5k rev range , we also think that there is still an issue with one of the carbies but with T fest comming up i cannot leave it there over the weekend.

but anything over 2000 rpm it's happy days

OK so the weekend chores are;

Saturday

1) windows - front

2) glove box

3) visors

4) under lay and carper in front only

5) pull off rear drum as it now has a metal scrapping noise on wheel rotation

sunday

1) windows - as they will have given me shit on saturday

2) finish off door mechanisms

3) door cards and badges

4) door rubbers and door adjustment

5) finish off grill and finish off tightening, bit and pieces around grill

6)drill new molding rivets under rear flipper windows and line up the moldings on the roof and put on

7) change oil filter and top up oil

have a beer

If you got nothing to do i can still save the doors and the door glass till sunday and you can come and give me a hand

thanks gene.

John last night i said " fu@#$@K it I'm done" packed the car .

I'm having some trouble with the stainless molds and I want to go to T fest and have a look and a talk to some guys there that have a bit more experience prior to trying to resolve the issue.

As wayne would say i still have about 15 5 minute jobs to  do , but will sort them out on Friday arvo and sunday morning at motto farm.

the car just needs and interior clean.

made it

it runs, starts, stops, doord close  and the  headlights work  - thats enough !
