Geez getting a bit technical but ok!!! there are 360 degrees and each degree is divided into 60 minutes and every minute is divided into 60 seconds blah blah blah so the odds of placing a wheel weight in the same position would be like winning lotto.

As for saying the weight is on the wrong spoke, if you look at something from an angle you will always get parallax error so look at the wheel in the shed and use your minds eye to rotate it to the same position as in the photo of the car and you will see what I mean, it is the right spoke.

Also use the little magnifying glass at the bottom right of your browser and blow the car pic up to 400% and have a look at the front wheel, the lion on the cap is sitting parrallel with the ground same as the wheel in the shed and the position of the weight is the same taking into consideration the parallax error of the angle and if you look real close you can even make out the position of the inflation valve which is the same as the wheel in the shed, anyway Im convinced but thats just my view, maybe we could get a better quality pic of the car with better resolution, who knows.

Cheers :dontknow:

360 degrees with 60 minutes and 60 seconds is a 1 in 1,296,000 chance, still 4,525 times more chance of getting a lead weight in that exact spot than winning lotto.

I agree with you about the parallax error and personally do think it's the same wheels.

What browser are you using? Not sure where it is on Chrome.

I usually hold CTRL then scroll up.

Hi All

as there are a few that don't think that these rims are the ones off the GTR-X, I thought that I would throw up some other pictures of the rims here as well as some that I have scanned out of some old magazines. The magazines that I scanned from were;
Collectible Automobile - (Feb 1994 US Magazine),
National Motor Museum Souvenir Book - (Sep 1994), and
The History of Torana - From Brabham to A9X (date unknown).

Here are the pics from the mags that I used;

Now here are some pics of the rims and scans of the above that are at 200%. when you look at the pics, look at the wheel alignment weight in relation to the fins, centre lugs and the tyre valve.

First one..

Posted Image

Note that the weight was a small size and was to the left of the fin and and three fins away from the valve..

I believe that it's this one..

Next one:

Posted Image

Note that the weight was a small size and was to the right of the fin and and nine fins away from the valve..

I believe that it's this one..

Posted Image

Next one: This is a little harder as the marks from the larger weight are not as prominent..

Posted Image

Note that the weight was a large size and was centre of the fin and and nine fins away from the valve..

I believe that it's this one..

Next one: Again, this is a little harder as the marks from the larger weight are not as prominent..

Posted Image

Note that the weight was a very large size and was spead over a number of fin and was five to seven fins away from the valve..

I believe that it's this one..

anyway, that is all I can come up with.. there aren't a great deal of pictures around now that show the GTR-X in Silver and that show the rims that well.

cheers
Mick

Hi all I have had a look at the rims and have no doubt that they are the real thing.
Only question is why did you paint your jogger RED Mick?

Pete

Personally I don't know why Mick had to justify anything to anyone from here. He would have done his homework prior to purchasing the rims. At the end of the day they will be more valuable to some and not so to others. I'm sure he didn't buy them to make a quick buck anyway knowing Mick.

My two bobs worth...

Agreed.

I just reckon its cool that we know these rims exist and who has them and that he has a red sneaker.

I think any doubt has now been removed.Posted Image

Thanks Guys...

Lets just say that the "blood" on the Jogger was an ol' Toranafest "wound". ..

cheers
Mick
