Yep the real deal too 1944 built, it had just taken part in a display flight, I sat in a MIG 15 once too that was a very tight fit and getting out was a challenge, the spit wasn't exactly roomy but I was too tall by far for it

Is that the one that crashed mate? :P

You'd have to be an ex-bike rider to fit in that Honda comfortably - but then it's not about comfort is it... :D

Grant if my memory serves me correctly,i think that was an instructional air frame from Sydney Tech, purchased by the late Col Pay from Scone, built up and flown by him, and sold to David Lowy for 2.5 mil???

I may have it arse up????

You may be right mate, but Cruiza will definitely give us the 100%.

The Sydney/ACT/Vic crowd should organise a weekend cruise to Temora for one of their flight weekends. Talk about real horsepower. Still disappointed I never gave myself a chance to head over there when living in Albury!!!

MIGs and Sabres were built for bullet shaped fellows, 5'6" in height hehehehehe

Wayne has it right about the history of the aircraft I have no idea about how much money it was sold for other then more then my weekly wage
they have two spitfires there, the only flying ones in OZ i believe, the other was an ex NZ aircraft that back in 2001 buzzed me as I pulled over on my bike, something I will never ever forget

I had been riding for hours about 350km and pulled over to admire the view at lake Taupo when three shadows flashed over me, I looked up to see 50 meter above me

A Spitfire
A Hurricane
A Mustang line astern

They had come up from behind me buzzed me and were pulling up and away, it was so unreal and unbelievable I just stood there mouth open trying to work out what had happened because what had happened couldn't have happened, but it had

So are you going to the revamped" Wheels on Wide Bay" Rory?
will be looking forward to meeting you and watching the new car GO,
A mate will be racing his 65 Mustang thats just picked up 50hp from last hill climb and a rev limiter so he stopps spinning 180deg and changing gears too late losing time as power drops away.lol
