Dan, if you ever get tired of your job, let me know, I'll come and sit at that desk any day. Might not get any work done for a few hours though while I just sit and gaze around....

Never, ever get tired of working here.. But I tell you what, we do a lot of sitting around and just eye balling all in the sheds here, even after 8 years of working in this shed doing our car care products, I never lose the wonderment of it all. :)

Hahaha There's an auction prize for Toranafest :D
"Dan-for-a-day" - A one day experience helping out at the shed. Let me know what you think :P

I'll probably need to pop up and trial it to see whether it's worth it mate.

LOL, Might be a little bit too unique for some I think! Still could be a fun one to do, especially over a weekend when we have a racing event on!

Great pics and write up there Dan. Like someone else said, it is great to see the cars in your collection being shared with the public at your premises and even better to see them driven out on the tracks. Saw the 78 hatch, the Jimmy Richards JPS 635 and the channel 9 camaro at the classic speed fest at lakeside last year and the 73 Group C XY GTHO, the RX7 and greens tuf (static display due to a few dramas unfortunately).

If you ever need more people i'll put my hand up for work haha.

Cheers Aggro, thanks mate.

You can expect more of it this year too.. Lakeside has just announced they will be running the same festival again this year in August, but this time it will have no noise restrictions! Hmmm Beechey Monaro at Lakeside anyone? :)

Dan is that the 50 years of lakeside celebration for touring cars on august 13-14?

Will be there as usual. Love living less than 5km from lakeside. Hmmm monaro and super falcon or the coca cola muzzy.

Haha Grant, I should actually have a helmet by then.

I'm sure if you bought enough car-care product you could secure her a birthday ride in a piece of aussie motoring history...........

That'll work :P

to me the 78 car is a bit of an unsung hero. It was the start of an era of domination by Torana and then Commodore!.

Oi! I might be a bit biased, but don't under estimate the role that the Yella L34 played in 1975. I think that's where it all began.

Actually is is prolly the XU-1's if the truth be known. The start of an era.

Actually Pat really it'd be the red and white HDT cars from 74 for lh's. They won the manufacturers championship in 74 and if brock's engine didnt fail cruised home to I reckon an easy 8 lap domination. But hey they are all good!

Cruiza - depends what the favour is haha.

Wasn't he 9 laps in front when the engine let go?

Imagine if he kept pulling away at the same rate, just ridiculous!

Brock was ahead by 6 laps when the engine failed at lap 120.

if he was allowed to keep going the way he was going he would have.he says in the dvd got to go with your gut feeling on how it is working.that "easy" sign maybe the second big mistake in as many years by the hdt the year before of course get max laps buggered it up.but if none of this stuff happened there would be no legend today.

He won in 79 by 6 laps and broke the lap record on the last lap.

I'm pretty sure he was 9 laps up in 74.

I'll have to watch the video again.

MHDT used a taller rear tyre (300/650/15) than many of the other teams used.
