Crane is normally a good brand. Just check for wear and needle roller bearings that don't roll.

hi sorry to steal the thread but you guys obviously know what your talking about, can any one recomend what type of roller rockers would be best for a 308 stroked out to 334 with a cam having 290 degrees duration and 0.50 inch of lift. i need them to be adjustible and wouldnt mind if they would bolt straight on so i dont have to take my heads off as i also have a bit of tappet noise as im running stock rockers. any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the informative posts people. Its given me some tips for my planned engine build. Looks like ST2031 might be the go for me.

Say if I get a 161 head and port it and stick it up on a mild 202, which rockers would I use?

Steve

Steve, you would use YT 5007's. That is the rocker originally designed as the replacement for all Holden 6 heads that don't use the 173/202 type rockers. There may be a Street Terror rocker that's a bit cheaper, but the 5007's would be easier to sell when they are no longer required, eg: when you upgrade to a 308.

Agreed, or blow up the motor you just built.. :P The YT do give you piece of mind, but as sammy has pointed out you really do not need the yt's

Cheers
