yeah true they are big turbos from factory, and probably better quality?

draglc how did you find the quality of the chinese turbo? did it end up packing in?

bomber is that wastgate external? how did you find the setup with the wastgate running just off the manifold in terms of air flow?

what about even a smaller turbo is the gt 35 too big? what about a t28 or something?

For a basic build one of those Falcon turbo's would be pretty good i recon. Wouldent go much smaller personally.

Wouldent make a million HP but would be fairly good in a street engine i recon??

Yes my wastegate is external. Im not entirely sure what your question is though??

Cheers.

uh i noticed how you welded on a separate pipe that went to the wastegate. its hard to explain without a diagram, but on second thought i dont think it makes too much sense anyway..

what are your thoughts on turbo size.

Yes, i welded a pipe between the collector and the turbo flange for the wastegate....as you usually do....

Thoughs on turbo size....work out what you want first hehe.

Cheers.

with blow through, why don't people run intercoolers? is it as easy as slotting one in between the carby and turbo?
is the water to air box you made sorta the same thing? does it blow air into the box which is cooled by the small radiator and pushed through into the carby?

i noticed the other setup was just straight from the turbo to carby

Yes the water to air intercooler i made does teh same thing as one of those air to airs, its just a lot more efficient and better. And mine was cheap lol.

For all out drag engines like Petes they tend to not run intercoolers, makes the inlet tract to long, more volume between compressor and plenum = more space to fill = longer to get to full boost.

Pretty sure Pete is just gonna run water/meth injection.

Cheers.

oh i get it just more lag pretty much...

could you have run a dedicated water reservoir like anothe radiator instead of the esky?

i think the idea was to fill the isky with ice and beers :) to improve it's effectiveness
it's a drag trick and usally gets filled with dry ice

i get it so what you really tried to accomplish was a beer to air cooler? hehe

Mate think of it this way.

An air to air inter cooler cools off ambient temperature, say 25 deg c, a cool day in AUS.

Mine when filled with ice cooled at approx 3 deg c. Regardless of ambient temp. Can be the middle of summer for all it cares.

Get it??

And you can put beer in there.

Cheers.
