Looks good. Do you have a sandblasting cabinet?

The loom is coming together nicely. At some stage in someones wisdom... they have chopped the engine bay plugs out and hard wired everything.... So I got onto a mate that bought my old paddock thrasher LX Hatchback and he chopped the plugs outta the loom for me. So now its a long process of re-soldering everything back on... Not as easy as it sounds with 36yo wiring that is covered in corrosion...

But Ive cleaned up the new plugs and all looks good!

Ive got a week off work so ill hook into getting the body rust proofed and sound deadened.

Not much in the way of interesting pics this time... Got the body totally fish oiled, then rust proofed and then went over the under side and floor pan with rust shield underbody deadner.....

Few hundred bucks worth of 2 pac, fish oil, rust proof and sound deadner...

Ive totally finished with the entire wiring harness. Its all been completely re-wrapped, also added in extra wiring for thermo fan relay/temp switch and relays for high/low beam.

Posted Image

The rear axle assy has been taken into the mechanics to get the centre stripped and re-built also fit new wheel bearings onto the axles. They are going to get the housing sand blasted and primed for me as its to big for our sand blaster at work.

Currently got the fuel tank sender out doing some work on it...

I was surprised at how well the arm rests came up!! These have been hiding under neath black vinyl paint for who knows how long....?
I would still like to get some Chamois paint mixed up and give them another coat of jam though.

The bloody bumper bar brackets were even powder coated maroon.....

Left em in the paint stripping dunk tank for 24hrs, then sand blasted em.

Posted Image

Then gave em a hit of super etch primer awaiting re-spray..

Steering wheel is getting a blast and a tidy up. Should the spokes be satin black?

Nooooooooooooo, have you seen the magic the plastic trim crowds can perform?......Seriously don't throw it away.

These guys can assemble, replace broken bits missing and re-pattern these things!

With a bit of reinforcing these brittle old consoles can be live well again.

Is there an easy way to paint all the nooks and crannys of a wiper blade???

Rear sway bar, fuel tank straps and wiper blade assys. Keep in mind all this crap was originally powder coated maroon.... I cant wait until I never have to see that colour again!

Hanra.... GREAT WORK !!!

Keep that console. If it is not repairable, post me down a section of it- flat piece and with the grain, and I can have a crack at making an ashtray fascia for you.

I made teo when I had my L31, and you couldn't tell the difference. (I gave the extra one to a mate)

Keep up the good work.

Hey Hanra,

When you posted in my intro thread the other day I was thinking, what's Hanra doing on a Torana forum??? & now i know, i suppose most people around town wouldn't know i've had a Torana for about 6 years either  haha.

You are doing a great job on your black (it's almost the right black :P) LH, look forward to seeing it in the flesh.........well metal.

It was already painted when you got it?? do you know who painted it & any idea how much? i have to get mine painted yet & finding someone that can be trusted is the worst.

Cheers Brenton.
