I found date coded GM leads, but I don't think that Holden ones would have Packard written on them (Unless that was the company who manufactured them?).

I also had two single outlet water pumps in the shed. I always assumed that they were the same and I was going to donate one to your cause, however I have discovered that they are different and am now on a crusade to find out why. I will start another thread on the subject directly.

Oh wow! That's awesome!! Will be interesting to see why the difference?

I think these leads are the same same as yours. That was the latest date code they supplied. 1-Q-74. Good for an L34 but mine is 10/75. So I just went for non-date coded.

I honestly thought this would not be printed on the lead??? 1-Q- I thought it would be blank.

Oh well.

There's a third version of the old pumps too.

Leads all fitted up. All fit well, No 2 at the front could have benefited from an extra inch of length.
The diagram they supply shows the firing order rotating anti-clockwise rather than clockwise around the dizzy cap. And as such the dizzy cannot be positioned where they expect it. The vac advance would foul. This could be why No 2 is a fraction short.

Hi Brad, that looks really really good with the black leads now on it. If you have a look at the lead closely after the 1-q- you can actually see it's had the writing removed from the surface. But it still looks great now, a single outlet water pump and you'd be set. I love how original you've tried to get the car. Gary.

there is gold on this forum apart from the shit slinging on stuff, which i really dislike

your car @ 68 was a buy anyday of the week all day long when you had it for sale

but it's not every day that a black texedu comes up for sale,l it came up once not sure if it will come up again soon.

Yes Grant, it's 1 sexy 5000. If in the end my car looks this good, i will be a very happy man. Brad's just giving it that attention to detail that makes a really good car "great" attention to detail is the key.

I did drop it down to $63k and prob would have gone $60k bare minimum. I thought that was fare at the time.

You could always add the correct code to the leads yourself  :D

Has taken me all week, but finished ready this from the start. Glad you found a way to keep it Brad. Like others have said, a top job and original restorations are very difficult. It takes a lot of skill, patience and discipline. I am one that is lacking on all of these but can appreciate the work of someone that does. You have to have OCD about it i think. Well done!

Thanks Steve, perhaps a bit of OCD not sure. Im just someone that, If Im going to do something, I don't see the point in doing half a job or taking short cuts. If Im going to put effort into a task, Ill put 100% into it to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

I do tend to see it quite a bit at car shows etc, a panel beater has put their 100% into the paint/panel, and engine/driveline builder has put their 100% into the mechanicals, an upholsterer has put their 100% into the trim work, yet the owner fails to put 100% into assembling the car etc. And its that last little bit that lets a lot of cars down overall.

I scratch my head sometimes and think why spend this much money/time and go to this much effort to not paint that, or fix this or fit the right one of those there...

But that's just me. And sometimes that mindset can be consuming.

Well that is extremely disappointing.... Photobucket has disabled all my photos forcing me to upgrade to a Plus 500 plan.....

I have been using Photobucket for image hosting for near on 10yrs Id imagine....!

Plus 500 Plan: 500 GB of Storage and unlimited bandwidth for $399.99 / Year. The Plus 500 Plan allows for unlimited image linking and unlimited 3rd party image hosting.

Read more: https://cache.gmh-to...s#ixzz4lSOT3STG

Well there is not a chance that I will be paying $399 per year just to host pics.... Its a real shame as this build probably came in helpful for a lot of members.

I have used your photos for reference on numerous occasions Brad. That sucks, and it makes me glad that I have never used a domain for storing mine.

This is a great thread with many great photos.

That does seem way to expensive though, dont blame you for not paying it.

Do you still have copys on your pc or like me, do you delete them once they are online?

If the latter, I'd suggest starting up a go fund me or similar for the hosting money, plus the money for a suitably sized external hard drive, then buying the hosing for a year, re saving all your picks then tellign photobucket to get #@$^%&, and re uploading somewhere more suitable.

Perhaps multiple photobucket accounts over several email addy's hahaha.

Just an idea.

I would still have them saved. I've got over 5000 pics on my phone from the build. But that's a massive effort trying to re upload 50 pages worth of my build. And trying to remember what pics I actually uploaded for the relevant post.

Yes I agree with that, frOck trying to revive this post.

So long as you still have the images I suppose.

Perhaps find a relevent party connected with photobucket we, and everyone else, who has benefited from your various builds, could contact via email with a "wtf Cunning Stunt" kinda message and lets see what we can get done?

Prolly a long shot but im all for writing dirty emails.

The 3rd party hosting on photobucket is disabled (unless you get the p500 account), but you can still store, view and retrieve your pics on a free account - so they're not gone, they just wont show up here :banghead:
