Surprising how long these projects can take...nevertheless they continue. For the pannie lovers out there, this old girl is progressing...
A few photos
I pulled out the front suspension, as it was the only part of the car that had not recieved attention. Painted up the control arms, springs etc and replaced the bushes with rubber ones - the blue poly bushes turned to dust.
I also put in some Moog balljoints.
Heres a pic of the rear seat from the front.
don't rightly know how to get these images larger. Downloaded these from cardomain.
Anyhow old girl should be on the road soon...

Few more pics.
I finally got the last Sandman stripe on the drivers front guard. Looks complete now.
Photos aren't any larger. Hmmm...
Anyhow. Tach & digital speedo fully installed.
Power window switches & guages installed in the Megashifter console.
Wiring & computer etc, installed in passengers kick.

Love it. Looks great. Perfect colour for a van too. My uncle had an orchid monaro years ago.

You are lucky to get it registered. In NSW at least you can't register a WB with HQ-HZ tail-lights, not without putting the HQ-HZ quarter lights in anyway. Looks great, a credit to you! Persdonally I'd lose the WB wagon rear bar and put the originals back on. Makes me kinda want to resurrect an old Saffron HQ Sandman I have.

Thanks guys. I was looking for the lairiest factory colour at the time...
The van is now havin the sidepipe connected to the extractors at the exhaust shop.
327, the bar is HQ wagon. I find they kind 'clean up' the back. The bumperettes are a bit bitsy. Mind if it was an original, thats the way i'd keep it.
Safron Sandman, cool - van or uterus?

Picked up the old girl from the exhaust fella in Taree. Stumbled over to the mechanics down the road to iron out a few things. Worked with the mechanic for a few hours then drove around Taree looking for a wheel alignment at 4.30 on a Friday arvo...doomed to fail.
Anyhow, its an amazing thing to now experience this thing as a car and not just something that I push & work on...

The old side pipes, reminds me of my Brothers old 1974 HQ Sandman Van, on his Sandman GTS steering wheel, he had Sandman on the Steering Cap, only one i have seen on a Sandman Van so far.

Classic man! I'd love someone to dig this out of a shed some-day and restore it...what do you reckon the chances are?
