Sorry bout the delay in getting back but had to get back to work as the photo's were there
Photobucket has been giving me grief as well - something to do with my browser doesnt support and gobeldegook an upgrade thingy or something

Has been a long 6 / 7 odd months what with work being flat out and me pouring money (felt like it) into this much to Mrs Swarbs disbelief at how something could swallow money so fast
Been also hard not being able to see it as it was (and still is) 2000 odd k's away

Black being the prefered colour of choice and so be it

Paint shop a couple of months ago

Stinga all is still down south

Hopefully Tony only have a couple of years left up here so the window will have to do - just as nature intended

G'day Mort as you can see your photo's and Dr Feggs were a great help so thanks again
295 15 50 rears and 245 fronts
Will have to mess round with the ride heights a bit

Diff is done and have gone the 10 bolt path with a Detroit Locker by Phil Jackman in Mandurah
It has been shortened with 31 spline axles and is the right length to suit the rims so they will move in a bit once it is in
Phil has designed the centres and makes his own - you just supply the crownwheel and pinion
Col who has Garths old FATSLR has one in it and comes with a "if you break it i will replace it " guarentee
Have opted for 3.36 so still sort of tall enough for the open road - especialy with the rims and tyres

Engine is together and have gone down the 355 path
The original motor is tucked away for a rainy day
So i have this under my bench up here as an early xmas present - sill in plastic wrapping so i havnt physicaly seen it

Still needs the bits and pieces
But basically scat crank and rods
Dropped forged pistons
Roller cam lifters and rockers
VN heads flowing 550
Torque power dual plane
650 double pumper "Q" series Quickfuel carb - we erred away from the 750 for better vacuum and airspeed but see how it goes

Super T10 courtesy of Joe "unclefesta" is in the shed next to it

SO
Now the waiting game for the house to be finished and i can finaly bring it all together in the one place

Glad i could help a little.

You will have to let me know how you go with the ride and what springs you have in the rear when it's on the ground and running, i had my eldest and 2 younger ones in the back and the body sat on the wheel, it's just been painted so i am going to have to look at getting raised springs for the back.

Also would like to know if you have any trouble with the front, i have 245/60/15's on the front and it looks like the tyre is going to rub when cornering so i might have to go the 50 series, i will have to wait till the engine is in though before i start changing tyres.

No probs Mort but will be a while till i get to that stage so you may be helping me out with heights etc
I had it in mind to go the 50's on the front

Did you run the engine in on the dyno Swarbs?

I like your thinking on the carby. I'm contemplating changing the 800 on the ford for a 750. You should notice an improvement down low, shouldn't you?
Has your engine builder used the QF Carbies a bit? I've been told they go alright.

Cheers,
Tony.

No Dyno Tony .. apparently there is a 3 month waiting list to get on them in Perth - how true this is i don't know for sure
Being a roller motor it should not need a "run in" as such

Have heard nothing but good things about the Q F carbs and yes he has used them before

Should get better air speed and atomisation down low and the cam is one of those closely guarded "special grind" ones that all engine builders seem to have

I had heard that about C & R dyno in Perth. A mate threw a blower on his 542 cubed HQ ute & didn't dyno it because of the wait.

Cams probably a Crane 288. Hahaha.

Keen to see it going man. Looks good.

Cheers.

The red dust should complement the black and silver nicely

Big thanks to Knoath for organising them

Hi Dave, thanks for the message. Great Torrie mate after a bit of a shakey (rusty) start and great story as well on it's history. Looks a treat and I see a long road ahead for me to get where you are.
Cheers,
BJ
