There still out there and they still hold lots of interesting Aussie heritage that you think doesnt exist any more and in a condition that takes your breath away.

I sorry I cant tell you about its whereabouts and I probably shouldnt post the pics, but Im gob smacked about what Ive seenregards

Pays to have a poke about!!

What a great place. I have found a few in my travels, usually city outskirts
and country towns.

I am eyeing a very rusty yellow hatchback atm, plucking up the courage
to go in and ask if it is for sale.....

Absolute sh#t hole of a property. Tractors, sheds, farm equipment, miles
of cyclone fencing(piled up) and at least 3 big dogs.

Couple of XB falcons, old cortina and a zepher wreck. (mostly fords)
Also a one tonner rear end.

I was actually trying to find the owner/farmer to pay for some tomatos
before I worked out it was an honour system. Leave your money in the tin!

Anyway, nice find.

Cheers, Leakey

MY GODFATHER!! im simply hoping that the old bloke shown in the photos (the owner i assume) is actually doing something with all that treasure, and isnt like a number of folk ive come across who have things like that but are holding on to them, while they rust away because "they'll be worth a mint one day" you mention that there is many more that you havent mentioned, is the old fella ever gunna get aorund to restoring/driving/using at all the cars he has, what good is something like that if it cant be appreciated. My two cents.

I go to a lot of farms and country towns in my job (and I live in the country)
I see this all the time.
The owners almost never want to sell any thing because the longer they keep it the more it will be worth.....
The best I have seen was an old bakery delivery van (no rust) make a wicked hot rod.. 1924 dodge MINT with air still in tyres and an fb or fe holden delivery windowless.....All of which are hidden not far from my place and are still"appreciating value"

There are plenty more that I know of like the ss hatch one owner etc, but thats another story....

If any one sees a money printer in a shed I wouldnt mind getting my hands on that too...

I might have put up this one befor but it is worth a look.

72 Zodiac Blue XU-1 and HK 327 Bathurst Monaro.

Does bring a tear to the eye especially when they are only a short 15 minutes drive from me and I know the owner very well.

Theres a classic example of this in Perth.... Bob Ridley is his name and he has way too many of the early rare holdens :(

Also noticed this alot in the country, seen some lovely cars while out with the old boy visiting a few of his mates, most recent a lovely white and black hq ss with the plates 'SS HQ'..

People letting em rust away like that don't deserve to own them because "they'll appreciate in value" yet they're depreciating into a pile of worthless sawdust until someone with some skill buys it for peanuts and does all custom body work since parts no longer exist and brings it back to looking like new; THEN it's worth a mint.

Frickin' clean em up once in awhile and keep em oiled and looking like new and THEN they appreciate in value.

I knew I had another shed shot somewhere.

Front and centre unless I miss my guess is an Aston Martin DB5 (maybe DB4) AKA "Bond". "James Bond". Well at least close to the same model car he drove.

Posted Image

Could be a 1928 Chev Tourer on the left and far back right maybe ? a 34 "B" Model Ford??

There seems to be a lot more in the background. I didn't realise there were so many till I lightened the photo up in photoshop.

An XU-1 and a HK Monaro, side by side... what an awesome sight.

UNLESS THEYRE RUSTING AWAY IN SOMEONES SHED!

My uncle has a 1920/30 something Buick in his shed, complete with Straight-8 power baby, yeah! hardly any rust, still goes, almost immaculate red interior.

i know of plenty of early Holdens around where i live, in old forgotten farm dumps.

Which reminds me, theres a farmhouse ive gotta check out...

I think if your Buick is a straight 8, it's made after 1930 from memory, mine is a 1930 and a straight 6, but the last of it's kind and it just so happens the last one in the country too.

Oh what i'd give to be 20 years older with the knowledge of today, XU-1 and HK Monaro, oh some people, let someone else restore the cars to their former glory, brings a tear to the eye to see cars left like that.

LC70GTR, obviously the bloke who owns them doesn't want to sell them? I'd love to take at least one of them off his hands, the missus wants the HK.

Ah yes the old shed/barn find

I just found a LJ 6 cyl 2 dr in my brothers shed
Been sitting there 8 yrs and hasn't moved
So I bought it
Needs the dust blown off it... a carb..... some minor fixups and then I'll get it back on the road
Looks straight and rust free

Hopefully have some pics after the weekend when I get it out of the shed

Probably won't keep it long though..... as buying that one made 8 cars for me...... so one..... maybe 2 might have to go......haha
My 6x12m shed is already bursting

Totally criminal that, Barry, two magnificant cars just rusting away keeping each other company. How depressing.

Interesting site. A mate was telling me the other day he knows of a 73 Bathurst XU1, one owner, has barely ever moved, so low KM, but it's sitting in a pig pen on blocks, the pigs have eaten the tyres off it..

There is another GEM in a shed right here in Cootamundra and although I haven't seen it lately, I know its there because I personally know the fella and he said that he hasn't got the money to do it up yet. And yes he knows its value.

It is a genuine 1 owner LH SL/R 5000 and the only 2 things non original about it is that it has a different radio and the exhaust is 2 inch not 1 7/8 inch.

I have known Simon since 1977 and it has been his car since new.
