Put back on rotisserie to finish repairs. Weld rear quarters to beaver panel and make rest of left hand quarter as replacement panels are not 100% true fits as all the rest of you would know especially rare spare ones.

Its took some time, just took me a while to start to post the pics, when you get started on the old girl you just don't want to stop. Going to sand blast it myself, as you can see in the above photo i have bought one off ebay, 15 gallon and buying some medium grit garnett.

Bought a couple at rare spares but the two lower mudguard sections, flutes and sill end from Aussie Restos. They were a good fit straight away with very little mods to be done where the mudguard section i bought from rare spares was very different from original. It was scraped as a learning curve as i haven't done any panel replacement before. The beaver panel is from rare spares and is a good replica and the rear quarter.

Setting up my own booth to do sand blasting, had plenty of timber and clear plastic given to me by mates so booth isn't going to cost me except for a big tarp to lay on the ground to recycle the garnet. Time will tell weather its a good idea to do it myself or to have it done. When i had a quote they told me they do about 90% and the rest they wouldn't be able to get at.

Very cool build so far. Certainly brings back memories, but at least yours has less rust repairs than my LJ needed.

looks great

how easy is it to turn over by hand for one person on the rotisserie at those settings?
Am building my own rotisserie and wanting to know where the rotating point is to best turn over the body without too much hassle.

Its not to bad to turn, easy to turn if you pull on the sill and spin it that way but a little bit of resistance if you try and turn it at the end with the handles but still very doable by one's self. If i took a little bit more time on setting the up rights, little bit less angle than what i put them on it would have been perfect but happy with result.

Depending on the shop some of the rare spares products are made out the back, I had the issue with mudgaurd section (didn't end up using it) and the inner panel in the front mud guard (conseals the aerial, no idea on its techinical name) Front floor pans wer a bit iffy to but they were not as bad as those other parts.

A lot of the bigger stuff such as the beaver panel, valance and all them are made in taiwan i don't know if they are all the same but the one in sydney has a supplier which has now got his own small shop, he only deals with those bigger pannels made over seas and does alot of racing stuff. (i have the front guards in my thread somewer)

Yes the mudguard lower section is what i through away from rare spares and bought new ones through aussie restos, excellent to deal with, fast frieght and good fitting. As to be expected some minor panel beating need to be done to fold lips right as they come unfolded.

Ordered my house of kolor 2 pack epoxy primer and waiting on delivery, getting itchy fingers to get started again. Thanks for everyone who has looked at my project and the positive comments. Its good to hear from people that understand the time and effort that goes into these builds.

Oh yeah we all understand. Cut ,weld ,grind, sand then sand oh and sand some more. Not sure if I class it as fun but it's therapeutic with a bourbon in hand. :)

Sand blastered the boot and found some old repairs. This is when it was nearly finished blastered. More work ahead but all part of the fun, its amazing what you find when it is blasterd it does an excellent job very messy tho and you find sand where you wouldn't think it could get on ones persom.

The repairs are sound and have been done proparly, debating to still cut them out and redo. Will prime and go back.

All primed and looking sweet.
