Wow, that is some great inspiration, looks like a top notch shell, I think my 2 door has a little more rust. When you get 5 could show some pics of the rotissere, looks simple and effective, excellent job will look a million bucks when it is finished. I' m itching to start mine but as usual dollars are the killer and time, with a 3 year old and another on the way I think it will be a retirement project.

As asked for, my basic rotisserie pics.

Attached File  Centre slip bar.JPG   129K   2 downloads

Two engine stands with uprights extended and a to piece stabilizer bar with a bigger piece of tube in the middle to slip over both for adjustment, from one to the other to stop them from kicking up when moving it around.

Thanks heaps for that, the project looks like it comming along nicely, yeah I'm watching a couple of stands on ebay, brackets look easy enough then it off the families exhaust shop for some welding. Keep the pics of the car coming, it looks like it will be a cracker, also the rotissere looks to be making it so much easier to access the car as a whole.

The rotissere is the best thing i built for it, makes life so much easier, can get into every nook and cranny, where if i sent it to the blasters they don't get everywhere.
Here is a little more i have got done.

Attached File  652.JPG   113.24K   4 downloads

A few little holes to repair as to be expected but nothing serious.

Hi There,
I would be happy to swap rust holes, my car has the usual areas but the one that has me concerned is the valance on the front left, but the rest is not too bad or expensive to repair, i'm trying to find a relatively cheap 4 door as a parts doner and for hopefully a front cut as well, I guess i've waited for 11 years so a little longer is not going to hurt. The rotisisere is deffinatley the way to go, and i reckon i could blast it myself too.

Good luck with your search, oldskoolpartspanels on ebay worth a look for your valance if replacement is on the cards.

Geez interesting to see the detail in the panels, it's all so covered up by the rough finishes out of the factory and the layers of paints that people put on over the years? Its looking fantastic, are you going to spray the whole thing yourself? I got a valance off one of our members at a swap meet yesterday good to meet people with the same passion and interests in these pocket rockets. We are looking at some parts swaps, so win win for everyone.

Thanks very much for your comments, yes my brother and myself will be putting top coat on when we get to that stage.Shift work slows everything down so i get what i can done when i can. Good to hear you have your valance, you just don't know what you are going to find at swap meets, and yes its always nice to meet people who are just like us and have the bug.

Thanks guys for watching my progress, because of work, progress is a bit slow but you get that with the big jobs. Yes very lucky with the body haven't found many surprises and what is found is very minimal compared to other projects i have checked out of others. Very very happy with what i have started with.

Getting there slowly. As you can see in the pics have started to put a bit of sandable seam sealer in the cab as well, has to be lightly sanded and smoothed yet.
