You have to drill out or grind off the rivets. The replacement rubber should come with bolts to replace the rivets.

If there is no slop in the rubber then I would leave it as it is.

Hmmmm, I think I read somewhere that the replacement rubber I bought off Dattoman only has 2 new bolts? Particular size/grade bolt to be used???

The bolts to replace the rivets with the extension for the interlock should be supplied with the rubber. They will look a bit like these.

There is nothing special about the other two bolts to replace the normal rivets.

Should the cotter pins the hold the coupling onto the colum be replaced regardless once they have been removed??? I used a G-clamp to press them out. No damage.

Reuse the original cotter pins.

You need to take care fitting the cotter pins to ensure they seat correctly. Once you have them seated correctly use a clamp to press them home and them tighten the nut. I would also recheck the cotter pins once the car has been on the road.
