It's been a while since I checked in, I thought I'd update the thread as I've been doing some work on the car latley on/off, I've had a lot of ups and downs with pretty much everything I've done.. The engine went in initially had it almost complete in November 2015 then relised the engine didn't have a lot of oil pressure so back out it came and made me put the project on the back burner. A few years down the track I almost have the driveline complete with a fresh 355 stroker th350 and a b/w 3:45 lsd should be a good little combo :)
Hopfully I can get into a rhythm and finish this thing this year, it's been too long!!

Here's some pics :)

Thanks boys, I just can't wait to drive it! Everything takes me such a long time to do because it's my first ever build and I never stripped the car so finding bits for it is time consuming, secondly evrything I try and fit either isent fitting like it should or is wrong!
Also a lot of the parts that came with the car where either wrong or broken 😡 Baby steps but I do think I am getting there this year :)

Good job Nick, been a long build but it looks like you're on the home stretch. Keep motivated mate as that car is going to be sweet as when you're finished.

Keep going Nick! Set backs, issues, problems and re-work all make the end result so much more satisfying. At the end point the extra time and costs are an investment. Both in your pride and joy and personnel skills developed.

Do you have any further details on the oil pressure issue that presented with the 308? I learned a lot form my mistake. The rag protecting the engine from dust was left in valley when I installed the intake manifold. Now I know the Holden oil system very well and what parts wear out first when low on oil pressure.

Cheers, Steve.

Thanks Steve defenetly developing some skills along the way and learning from my mistakes.

When we stripped the engine down we found big clearances in the mains, cam tunnel and the oil pump bush was also very loose, apparantly all of those above together causing it to have very little pressure. It was only a cheap rebuild, I guess you do pay for what you get. This new engine has plenty of pressure it makes me happy :)

Small update :) got my tank in today, all my upgraded fuel lines in as well, they just need to be secured abit better as the standard spots are too tight for the 2 3/8" lines. Getting very close now I am getting excited!

Looking good Nicko. Let me know when you get it on the road and we can go for a cruise up to Heathcote or something. My cars pretty much identical to yours only grey.

Not much of an update, been chipping away at the list but it seems to be getting bigger. Every time I cross one thing off I seem to add one haha.
In the mean time I came across a guy on Facebook that does some really cool illustrations of cars so i got mine drawn to what I hope the finished product will look like. Check out the pic :)

Just short of an 8 year build I am finally going for rego next week, there is still a few things I’d like to attend to but for the most part I’d call this project done
I never thought I’d see the light at the end of the tunnel, being my first ever car build it was challenging! I Would of never got this car done with out this forum thanks to everyone that’s helped with questions along the way
