If i can stay off the booze for a few hours and dont find something better to do it will be tacked up over the weekend, keep in mind this is the "basic" swingarm......

Then i still need to make shocky mounts, a chain run, mounts for the chain guard, the brake caliper run, mounts for the brake line etc.

Once its all tacked up (guessing a month away, if i keep motivation) i will make a jig for it then get a mate to tig it all together.

Im a spray painter, not a welder, i can glue shit together with the mig, but i never have and never will pretend to be any good at actual welding.

Most things i can do myself, anything im confident with. I class this as reasonably crucial, hence i will get someone else to tig it.

As i said, everything will meet or exceed OEM, in most cases greatly exceed. The original swingarm was migged,

Cheers.

Spent about 3 hours on it this morning and got the "basic" swingarm tacked up, prettly pleased with that progress.

First i notched the tubes and tacked in the axle end brackets

Then proceeded with the arduous task of making them fit the pivot nicely....Took about two hours.

Once i was happy I set the slack adjusters even, tightened up the axle, checked everything was still straight then zipped them on :D

Had it at that point at about 10am :D

All looks pretty good, i did have to tweak it a bit after tacked to get the wheel square, but its good now.

Plenty of clearance everywhere, i think haha.

Did lift the back wheel to make sure the frame end didnt hit the frame, The tyre hits long before the swingarm does, the shocks im using only have about 80mm travel and the tyre hits the frame at about 150mm so nothings going to hit anywhere.

So, all in all, that was the bit i've spent the last 12 months procrastinating over, mostly tossing up whether i should cut up the factory swing arm or not, i did, and a bit over a week later i have a new better swingarm :D

Cheers.

Hmm not really i finished that, clucked around for a bit, then started drinking. Achieved nothing today really lol.

Not sure whats next TBH, i'll get onto the lad who will be welding it and see if he recons its worth welding the bit thats done before going on with the rest.

Cheers.
