Just to clarify....

Is this bottle the one suited to a pump/motor that has a plastic hex nut to secure it????

So after all this Ive been supplied with P/N: 7434262A...... Which is obviously incorrect. But for the record it appears this version wouldnt have a motor mounted to it at all? Perhaps the motor/pump is mounted elsewhere?

Don't quote me on this, but that might be to suit LC/J, with the manual pump instead of the electric motor? Not that that helps anybody here haha

I had to do the same to fit the pump, I also was'nt happy. Otherwise I think that will be the correct bottle for you
Brad. It has the correct cap attachment that is the same as my very early LX- which basicly has LH running gear
& accessories.

Brad, your 2nd and 4th pix - mine is identical to that. I just removed the "tit" outlet, enlarged the hole to suit (leave a bit undersize) the old pump assembly screw, and fitted it all up. The coarse screw on the old pump will cut a thread into the new bottle if , as I said, you leave the hole a bit undersize.

regards,Rod.

Yeah heard from David as well, hope these issues get sorted soon.
He said the radiator clamps suit HK-Q 350 models and smaller (I guess 2 inch) ones are being
released next year.

I have sent a PM via Les. What did you determine in regards to the two different pn washer bottles?

Hi Brad

Yeah I know I'm not the David your referring to.
Anyway, I've checked an old M37068 reservoir I've got laying around and the original/genuine hole size is correct to take the washer motor fitting. It appears that Rares use the earlier type HK to LC reservoir that has the hose nipple fitting and just have it printed with the appropriate wording to suit the LH - UC models.
I would expect the only thing you can do is remove the nipple and use a rats tail file to enlarge the hole to suit.
I would avoid being tempted to ream the hole out with a drill bit unless you drill carefully with a cordless drill on slow speed and step up with drill bits in half millimeter increments to obtain the desired hole size.
Too big a bite in the plastic with a large drill bit may crack the reservoir.

Cheers Dave. Im just awaiting on David to reply and advise exactly what the differences are between the two P/Ns listed for LH/LX Torana. Ive got my supplier awaiting my decision to either send this back to swap over or I just live with it and do as you say. But Im awaiting on RSP to advise....

Some H series cars have these washer bottles and the pump is mounted in the wiper motor itself I'm guessing this is that type I just fitted the pump in after removing the white plug cheers. P

I have only just received an email from David at RSP. He has advised:

We have investigated the query you raised regarding the washer bottle and it appears that both 7434262 and 7434262A will not suite your application. Further at this stage we don’t have any other part that will suit. The problem, as you have already picked up, is that the hole in the bottom of the bottle is too small to fit your pump. What we will do is specifically rework these to suit Torana’s and create a separate part number.

So all up that is great news for Torana owners. The pump I have, I believe is the correct one?

Well HUGE thanks go to David and the team at Rare Spares for resolving this issue EXTREMELY quickly!!!!

The pump/motor slotted in nicely into the new rubber grommet of the replacement washer bottle, I applied a little bit of sealant for good measure also.

PROBLEM SOLVED. Thank you once again Rare Spares!
